According to CNBC’s David Faber, AbbVie (ABBV -12.9%) was negotiating its deal with Allergan (AGN +28.2%) for six or seven weeks before today’s announcement. CEO Rick Gonzalez initiated talks.
Allergan will re-domicile as a U.S. company as a result.
