Japan PM calls for de-escalation of Iran conflict

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba urged de-escalation following the U.S. strike on key Iranian nuclear sites

“We believe that a de-escalation as soon as possible is more important than anything. At the same time, Iran's nuclear weapons development must be stopped.” WHITE FLASH “We are currently confirming the facts. We are closely monitoring the situation there with grave concern."

The remarks came after U.S. forces struck Iran's three main nuclear sites.

Ishiba did not clarify whether his government supported the U.S. strikes, adding that it will deliberate on the matter.
