Crude oil prices rose over 2% on Friday, after Washington issued fresh sanctions against Iran, targeting the country's "shadow fleet." The move came after US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US "has an armada" moving toward Iran, renewing worries over potential military action that could disrupt oil supply. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the death toll of the Iranian protests rose to 3,117.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in March increased by 2.28% at 1:40 pm ET, going for $61.01 per barrel. At the same time, Brent for deliveries in March rose 2.28% to go for $65.82 per barrel.
