Trump says he will act against 'fraudulent polling'

US President Donald Trump said on Monday he would take action against what he called "knowingly wrong" election surveys, accusing media outlets and pollsters of deliberately misleading voters. Writing on Truth Social, Trump argued that polling has been used as a coordinated effort to distort public opinion ahead of future elections.

In his post, Trump said he was "going to do everything possible to keep this Polling SCAM from moving forward," calling "Fake and Fraudulent Polling" something that should be treated as "virtually, a criminal offense." Trump named outlets such as The New York Times, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, as well as Fox News and The Wall Street Journal, accusing them of pushing misleading polls.

His remarks come as the US heads toward the November 2026 midterm elections, when voters will decide control of Congress by electing a new House of Representatives and a portion of the Senate during Trump's second, non-consecutive term.
