United States Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed on Friday that within the first seven days of Operation Epic Fury, it hit over 3,000 targets and destroyed or damaged 43 Iranian ships.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces said that they had destroyed 60% of Iran's missile launchers and "large amounts of missile stockpiles have been neutralized" in combined operations with the United States.
On Saturday, US President Donald Trump announced "major combat operations" against Iran, targeting government and military targets. Iranian state television confirmed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was among those killed by airstrikes in Tehran later that day. His successor is yet to be named.
