House Approves Bill To Codify $9.4 Billion In DOGE Cuts To Foreign Aid, Public Media

by Jackson Richman & Nathan Worcester via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),

The House of Representatives passed a bill on June 12 to rescind $9.4 billion in federal spending.

Introduced by House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.), it passed 214–212.

It now goes to the Senate, where it will likely pass along party lines. As in the House, only a majority will be needed to pass it because it is not subject to the 60-vote filibuster threshold.

The seven-page bill eliminates funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funds the Public Broadcasting Service and National Public Radio. It also rescinds $15 million from the Institute of Peace and $22 million from the African Development Foundation.

Additionally, it scales back billions of dollars in economic assistance through the U.S. Agency for International Development.

The bill also codifies some of the cuts made by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was led by Elon Musk. DOGE has saved taxpayers $180 billion, or more than $1,118 per taxpayer, according to its website.

The legislation was sent last week to Congress by the White House in accordance with the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974. Congress has 45 days to approve such requests.

The House Rules Committee advanced the bill to the floor on June 10, 8–4.

“President [Donald] Trump and congressional Republicans campaigned on attacking wasteful spending,” the committee’s chairwoman, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), said. “So the new administration ... then found wasteful spending. President Trump then acted and recommended that these funds be permanently canceled. I cannot think of a more textbook scenario of the proper utilization of this process.”

Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.), the committee’s ranking member, disagreed.

He said the bill does not eliminate “waste or fraud or abuse.”

It’s gutting essential services that people rely on, gutting programs that save lives,” he said.

He cited the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), which seeks to eliminate HIV and AIDS worldwide, as an example.

“This program alone has saved 26 million people from dying of HIV, and enabled more than 8 million babies to be born HIV-free,” McGovern said. “There are now tens of millions of people on lifesaving treatment with PEPFAR accounting for over 90 percent of preventative treatments around the world. Your bill pulls the rug from under this program and caps 20 years of virus progress.”

Ahead of the vote, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) criticized the package as “reckless” and predicted that every Republican would vote for it.

“It’s going to undermine America’s national security, hurt our ability to protect the American people in terms of their health, their safety and their well-being, including by going after a George W. Bush bipartisan initiative that has saved thousands, actually hundreds of thousands, actually millions of lives across the world by combating the HIV and AIDS crisis,” he said, referring to PEPFAR.

Rep. Carlos Giménez (R-Fla.) told The Epoch Times that the PEPFAR matter is “not an issue.”

Reports of it affecting that are not true,” he said.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) told The Epoch Times that the criticism over it possibly affecting PEPFAR is “saber-rattling.”

Our Fiery but Mostly Peaceful Foreign Invasion

We all knew that this was coming.  When voters came out in force last November to make sure that President Trump’s margin of victory exceeded Democrats’ systemic fraud, it was obvious what would happen next.  Democrats would do what Marxist globalists and Western Intelligence agencies have been doing across the world for many years: instigate riots, mayhem, sabotage, and general rebellion.

As any thinking person now understands, whenever the powers that be don’t get the election results they want, they just foment revolution and work to overturn the will of the people (see Victoria Nuland and the U.S. State Department’s Ukrainian coup d’état circa 2014).  Britain’s Establishment has undermined the Brexit vote, imported new Islamic voters, and locked up any native citizens who express outrage online.  France and Romania prosecuted their countries’ leading opposition candidates and banned them from holding office.  The Dutch Establishment blocked Geert Wilders from becoming prime minister and installed an Intelligence Community technocrat in his stead.  Germany is close to designating the most popular opposition political party a domestic terror organization.

In the United States, Democrats and their Intelligence Community co-conspirators orchestrated the Russia collusion hoax against President Trump, sabotaged his administration, subverted his lawful orders, attempted to remove him from office, used COVID to nullify election security laws, incited the 2020 summer riots, installed Dementia Joe Biden in a fraud-filled 2020 mail-in ballot dump that ludicrously rendered the Delaware Dummy the “most popular” candidate of all time, and spent years trying to imprison Trump for the rest of his life.

Across the West, the Establishment wages war against national populations that reject the politicians and bureaucratic tyrants running their countries into the ground.  Western “elites” undermine democracy in the name of democracy and throw anybody who objects into jail.  It’s insanely totalitarian...and entirely predictable.

For months, every American with two brain cells and a pulse has understood that Democrats were preparing for a 2020 “summer of love” reunion tour now that President Trump is back in the White House.  Just as they took advantage of fentanyl fanatic George Floyd’s death by railroading four Minneapolis police officers and kicking off a months-long rampage of arson, looting, and murder in Democrat-run cities across the U.S. five years ago, violent Democrats have been salivating at the chance to turn the summer of 2025 into a bloody, fiery nightmare for law-abiding Americans.  It’s what Democrats do.

This season’s production of the NGO-financed, Intelligence Community–choreographed, Chinese Communist Party–supported, and Democrat party–organized “color revolution” has a new theme.  Instead of bringing back Black Lives Matter for an encore performance of its widely acclaimed 2020 race riots (despite five-star reviews from the Establishment, that “fiery but mostly peaceful” theatrical production turned off much of the public), 2025’s murder spree will celebrate criminal illegal aliens’ war against Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

Forty million foreign nationals will prove why they should be allowed to break America’s immigration laws and bilk America’s taxpayers by burning down American cities, attacking America’s law enforcement officers, and endangering American lives.  California governor “Gruesome” Newsom sure is excited.  The same tyrant who sent armed enforcers after Christians who refused to mask toddlers over two years into the COVID pandemic (another Democrat-sponsored theatrical production that the press and politicians adored but the public despised) is doing everything he can to help illegal aliens set his state on fire.

Opening night for downtowns across the country is still a few weeks away, but the preview show in Los Angeles is already getting stellar reviews from all the very best people.  Celebrities say the Democrat party has really outdone itself.  Journalists argue that this is one sequel you won’t want to miss.  Anonymous sources from the CIA and FBI are ecstatic about this summer’s coming carnage and are already telling critics who have not yet seen the show, We absolutely love it when armies of foreigners wage war on Americans.  We all get raises, additional surveillance powers, and brand-new office space.

Democrat politicians can hardly contain their glee.  Whenever they show up on CNN and MSNBC, they cheer for rioters.  If “democracy” means throwing bricks and Molotov cocktails at police officers, robbing civilians, and burning down small businesses, then it makes perfect sense why the party of slavery and Jim Crow has never changed its name.

Nothing says, “I like to terrorize and intimidate Americans into submission” like a crazy-eyed leftist holding a gas can in one hand and a match in the other, while wearing a t-shirt that says, “Hate has no home here.”  The Democrat party doesn’t need to rebrand.  It has proudly set churches, homes, and shops on fire for most of its existence.  Arson, theft, and murder are in its political DNA.  When Democrats preach “tolerance,” what they really mean is, “Do what we say, and we’ll tolerate you for the time being.”

Even though we knew that these live performances of Democrat violence and mayhem were coming, this whole astroturfed exercise in stompy-foot outrage is still a bit surreal.  For decades, the American Establishment has lied to Americans by claiming that the forty million or more illegal aliens living inside our country (a nation growing inside a nation) are just like us — better, in fact, because they do jobs that Americans won’t do!  (We’ve got to have those domestic slaves, right, Democrats?)

Yet now that the foreign nationals have been “activated” to burn down America, it is easy to see that they are not like us at all.  Americans don’t wave Mexican flags while setting vehicles on fire.  Americans don’t praise Hamas while threatening Jews.  Americans don’t smuggle biological weapons from China in hopes of destroying America’s food supply.  Americans don’t export guns and military equipment to the nation’s geopolitical enemies.  Americans don’t get shout-outs from Islamic terrorists encouraging Muslims inside the U.S. to assassinate President Trump, his Cabinet, and their families.  That’s what foreign infiltrators, terrorists, and enemy combatants do.

When I turn on the news and see foreign nationals destroying cities and hurting Americans, I don’t feel sympathy.  I feel anger.  I am acutely aware that an army of military-aged males operates inside our borders.  The members of that army demonstrate allegiance to foreign powers and outright hostility toward citizens of the United States.

Even worse, Democrats, Establishment Republicans, and bureaucrats within local, state, and federal agencies have undermined existing immigration law and encouraged this decades-long foreign invasion.  While local communities and an unknown number of victims (in the Democrat party’s so-called “sanctuary” cities, crimes committed by illegal aliens are intentionally hidden) have suffered from this forced clash of civilizations, Americans who have spoken out against this government-sanctioned lawlessness have been called “bigots,” “racists,” “heartless,” “selfish,” and “evil.”

First, powerful government officials conspire to aid and abet a foreign invasion.  Then those government officials cover up the dangers and injuries to American citizens.  Finally, the same government officials whose actions have caused real harm to Americans denounce Americans as “immoral” for daring to oppose the government’s malicious, criminal, and damaging conduct.

It’s as if the people who have been “running” this country for decades hate the people whose families have long lived here and love the foreigners who just sneaked in.  Perhaps we Americans are a nation living inside a nation being constructed around us!  That would certainly explain why the Constitution (and particularly the Bill of Rights) seemed to stop operating sometime over the last century.

But we know why this is happening.  Too many Americans have rejected the Marxist globalists and their borderless “New World Order.”  So we must be made to pay.

Karen Bass says if ICE raids persist, there will be ‘nobody’ left to nanny the children and mow the lawns

Everyone probably remembers during Donald Trump’s first presidency when Kelly Osbourne completely jammed her foot in her mouth during a segment on The View when she got a little carried away talking like a tough guy, delivering what she no doubt thought was a zinger: “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?”

It was such a monumental jack** moment, even the other View women gasped and cringed, and Osbourne quickly backpeddled.

That was only the beginning. Since then, Democrat after Democrat has warned what enforcing immigration law means (but only when Republicans do it), and that is the disappearance of slave labor. (I swear, if in 50 years the Democrats demand reparations for the illegals who were underpaid and treated like property, the very policies they support now, I’m gonna lose it.)

As we’re all acutely aware, Los Angeles is indistinguishable from a third world riot scene. If you didn’t know better, you’d think you were in Mogadishu in July 1989, or Tripoli in 2011—but nope, it’s just a Golden State city after decades of Democrat control.

And, offering her two cents about the events, mayor Karen Bass says that if the ICE raids persist, there will be “nobody” left to nanny LA’s children or mow the lawns.

Her comments are below, from a report at Fox News:

‘My biggest fear is the impact that all Angelenos will begin to feel when the labor of immigrants is absent,’ Bass said. ‘We’ll feel it in the construction industry. We’ll feel it in hospitality. We’ll feel it at grocery stores. People will begin to notice.’

She continued, ‘You think about the mothers who have nannies and housekeepers. They will feel it when there's nobody to do childcare and there’s nobody to take their kids to school. You know, you will feel it when your gardener goes away, and you don’t know where he or she is. So Angelenos will feel the absence of immigrant labor.’

There will be “nobody” left to undercut American wages and steal American jobs? Sounds like a win-win to me. Oh the horror that a parent would have to care for their own child, or tend the garden without the help!

But she is right, rooting out illegals would be felt in the job market—because they’re taking a ton of our jobs. One study presented a very, very conservative estimate, that 11% of the workforce in LA is made up of illegal workers. The Las Vegas Sun reports that immigrant labor makes up a whopping 55% of the job market in California—how many of those are illegals?—and then there’s this, from a search engine AI:

In California, around 40% of the construction workforce is composed of immigrants, with about half of them potentially lacking documentation. An estimated 45% of agricultural workers are undocumented.

However… you know who we wouldn’t miss if they didn’t show up for “work”? Government parasites, like Bass. Can we loose ICE on California’s elected officials, so they too stop showing their faces in public?

An Armed Invasion

Courts have enjoined Donald Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport Tren de Aragua bad guys. Venezuela opened its prisons and let those really awful excuses for humans out to wreak havoc in the United States. Trump identified a “predatory incursion” that one judge was sufficiently sapient to see. But the others are oh so offended that these “American fathers” are being sent back to their home countries. Kilmar Abrego Garcia is afraid that a rival gang might kill him since he killed one of their family members. That must be a reasonable fear that permits an asylum claim. But is he really looking to go to an insane asylum? Those are safe places with strong security… Just asking…

As the camera turns back to the streets of Los Angeles, we see…

Los angeles riot over immigration

X screen video screengrab.

Large crowds of violent people, dressed in face masks, shirts with anti-American slogans, multiple Mexican flags waving, screaming, and throwing missiles at law enforcement. This sounds very much like the Japanese army charges on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Okinawa, and more. The uniforms are different, but they’re still uniforms. The flags are different, but still national flags. Screaming is screaming. Rocks aren’t bullets, but they are still deadly.

So, what’s different?

Those other military actions were in distant places. These are at home. The people involved in the insurrection in Los Angeles don’t want to become Americans. They want California to be reintegrated into Mexico, reversing the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo that ended the Mexican-American War in 1848. It does not matter what the weapons are. This is Mexican-American War II, and it’s not limited to California. Multiple cities are involved, and so far, the Battle of Los Angeles is being lost by our side. That doesn’t mean it can’t be won. It’s still a fluid situation.

Governor Hair Gel declared in his instantaneous lawsuit to stop Trump from using the National Guard that the protests were “peaceful.” But live video proves that Sir Gavin’s protestations are of the same quality as Pinocchio’s. Mexican nationals can be seen throwing pre-positioned bricks through the windshield of a police car. LAPD officers huddled under an overpass so that they wouldn’t be hit by flying objects. Stores are being wantonly looted, and dozens of cars are being torched.

Governor Newscum claims in his suit that Trump “cannot assert that California is being invaded or is in danger of invasion by a foreign power.” It appears that he is almost as smart as Governor Walz of Minnesota, who celebrated the destruction of his state’s largest city in the George Floyd riots. Making claims does not make a statement true. Space does not allow a full litany of the legal misrepresentations in the lawsuit, but it’s highly likely that a Left Coast judge will grant some sort of order. That will force Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act, and now all the lawfare and violence against ICE will be met with overwhelming force.

This has been building. ICE has been rounding up large numbers of violent felons. Certain left-wing organizations have been organizing violent protests against those raids. These are a Fifth Column. There can be no equivocation. When violence is used en masse against legal authority, it is war. It does not need to be accompanied by tanks and planes. It does not need guns. Bricks and fireworks hurled from the high ground work, and guns will be supplied by backers when those persons think it’s a good idea. Meanwhile, the entire Democrat party (minus Senator Fetterman) is totally in favor of overthrowing the duly elected government in D.C.

Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution defines treason as “levying war against [the United States], or adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.” It is very clear that George Soros has funded large parts of the riots, as has billionaire Neville Roy Singham. Since these two are both US citizens, funding the attempt to overthrow the authority of the government is treason. This should be prosecuted. In the meantime, many lower-level useful idiots are involved, and their coordinated insurrection should also be punished.

Donald Trump has been slowly moving up the food chain in his prosecution of illegal aliens. He started with miscreants who already had removal orders. Courts got in his way, so lots is bogged down in appeals. But ICE has been sent to remove as many bad guys as possible. Even if their transfer to CECOT is delayed, they can be housed in all manner of temporary housing away from their erstwhile victims. Ultimately, they will be fully removed.

Along the way, the left has stirred up opposition that is now a full-on war. Calling it “protests” won’t wash. And tolerating the Democrat lawmakers who promote this evil will only make it worse. Trump sat back during the George Floyd Summer of Love, and multiple cities burned. He has learned his lesson and is now slowly ratcheting up the pressure. The National Guard is being used to protect Federal property and officers. These troops are not being used for law enforcement. But with the governor and mayor in cahoots with the insurrection, Trump’s hand is being forced. And they won’t like the outcome.

Looking at the foreign student data reveals alarming numbers

There is clearly nothing wrong with having foreign students attend U.S. colleges, but when Harvard has around 30% foreign students, the numbers appear to be out of whack. That is especially true when Harvard rejects so many well qualified U.S. students.

Simple research yielded the following information:

In the 2023–2024 academic year, the United States hosted a record number of international students, exceeding 1.1 million. This figure represents 5.9% of the total U.S. student population. India and China are the two largest sources of international students, making up over half of the total. Specifically, India had 331,602 students, while China had 277,398.

In the 2022–2023 academic year, 1,355 U.S. students studied in India. So there were 245 Indian students studying in America for every American student studying in India.

The number of Americans studying in China is currently around 800. So, there are around 350 Chinese students studying in America for every American student studying in China. Is that a good idea since we know China has a history of stealing American intellectual property and since they clearly were the origin of COVID and there have been recent arrests of Chinese operatives seeking to infect U.S. crops?

We read that the reason Harvard and other universities accept so many foreign students is because they pay the full cost and subsidize the cost of American students. Where do those students get the money since the median family income in China is estimated to be around $5,500 per household? And the average salary in India is around $5,000 per year, so a family probably makes less than $10,000 per year.

So, do Harvard and other colleges only accept rich students, or does someone else pay the bill? Does Harvard reject qualified poor and middle-class students in America in favor of foreign students?

While Biden opened the borders to flood the U.S. with millions of illegals competing against Americans for jobs, he greatly increased work visas for foreigners—which also reduced opportunities for Americans. Why would we do that when so many qualified Americans are looking for jobs? Why do they cater so much to big corporations?  From a Breitbart article:

The 400,000 work permits issued to foreign college-migrants in 2024 likely have a huge career impact on the roughly 800,000 Americans who graduate with technology-intensive, four-year degrees in business, science, computer, math, architecture, and healthcare. Census data from 2021 showed that many Americans are pushed out of the technology careers and salaries they studied to achieve.

Shouldn’t we stop pretending that Democrats are the party for working Americans? They support flooding America with foreign students, illegals, and work visas while opposing Trump’s policies to bring back manufacturing and energy jobs to the U.S. They also oppose requiring physically and mentally capable people to be job-hunting while on government benefits. It certainly appears that they would rather have Americans permanently dependent on the government instead of giving them more opportunities to move up the economic ladder.

US takes first step for potential mineral lease sale near American Samoa

The U.S. Interior Department said on Thursday it was publishing a request for information and interest to explore the potential for seabed mineral leasing offshore American Samoa.

The step will launch a 30-day public comment period and mark the first formal action toward what could be the first mineral lease sale in federal waters in over 30 years, the department said.
