Amb. Huckabee to Newsmax: Hamas Must Leave for Gaza Carnage to End

The carnage in Gaza won't stop until Hamas decides it has no future there, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee told Newsmax.

"This was started by Hamas on October 7," Huckabee said in an extensive interview with Newsmax Middle East correspondent Zach Anders, airing Sunday on "Wake Up America Weekend." "They created this nightmare. They perpetuated the nightmare. They've kept it going for over 600 days."

Hamas, the former governor added, tortured and murdered hostages, including Americans.

"They murdered over 1200 people on the day itself, Oct. 7, taking over 250 hostages, including a lot of Americans, and a lot of Americans tend to forget that Americans were taken hostage," said Huckabee. "Americans were murdered. Their remains are still being held by Hamas. This all comes down to one thing: the absolute uncivilized savagery of Hamas."

The Israelis and Americans want the conflict to end and have suggested several "reasonable" solutions.

"The one thing that has been consistent, and President [Donald] Trump has never wavered from this, is that Hamas has no future there," said Huckabee. "They can't govern. … Put the blame where it is. It isn't on Israel. It's with Hamas solely, and they can fix it as soon as they decide that they are willing to take an exile, which Israel is willing to let them do, but they're not going to let them stay in Gaza."

The ambassador added that he wishes more people would understand that civilian casualties in Gaza are the result of Hamas amassing people in areas where Israel said it would hit.

"Who announces in advance they're going to hit a particular area?" he said. "The Israelis do, because they're trying to keep from civilian casualties in a war. You don't always have that luxury. So what did Hamas do? They pushed their people right into the very target that Israel had announced. That's why so many have been a part of the carnage."

Huckabee, meanwhile, said he does have quite a few Palestinian friends and plans to meet with Palestinian Authority leaders.

"I don't hate anybody," he said. "I want them to succeed. I want their people to have great opportunities. But I have not only already met with some Palestinian leaders, mostly business leaders, but I plan to meet with Palestinian government leaders to talk about whether there are ways forward."

Huckabee pointed out that Trump sent him to Israel to be ambassador for "all of Israel."

"That includes Judea, Samara, and all parts of it," he said. "I want to be faithful to that task."

He also commented on news that French President Emmanuel Macron will be proposing Palestinian statehood to the United Nations.

"If you want a Palestinian state so badly, why don't you host it?" Huckabees said. "You've got plenty of land. People don't understand. Israel has less than a tiny fraction. Muslim-controlled countries have 644 times the amount of real estate that Israel has. So when people say, well, carve out some of Israel, what are they asking them to do? Carve out a bit of a tiny piece of property that's the size of New Jersey?"

Trump Heads to Camp David Amid LA Immigration Riot

President Trump told reporters Sunday he was heading to Camp David for high-level military meetings as violent protests over immigration raids continued in Los Angeles, prompting discussions of deploying troops under the Insurrection Act, The Hill reported.

"We're going up to Camp David; we have meetings with various people about very major subjects," Trump said during a press gaggle before boarding Air Force One. "We'll be meeting with a lot of people, including generals, as you know, and admirals."

He did not specify the focus of the meetings or whether any foreign dignitaries would be involved.

However, shortly afterward, Trump posted a message on Truth Social describing the demonstrators as a "violent, insurrectionist mob," accusing them of attacking federal agents to halt deportation operations.

"Violent, insurrectionist mobs are swarming and attacking our Federal Agents to try and stop our deportation operations," Trump wrote. He said he had instructed key Cabinet officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, "to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion and put an end to these Migrant riots."

The president declined to rule out invoking the Insurrection Act, a rarely used federal statute that allows the deployment of the U.S. military on American soil to restore public order. "We're not there yet," Trump said, adding that he did not currently consider the protests to qualify as an insurrection.

The Insurrection Act was last invoked in 1992 by President George H. W. Bush to quell violence in Los Angeles after the acquittal of officers in the Rodney King case.

Trump said about 2,000 National Guard members had already been deployed to Los Angeles, which drew criticism from California state officials, including Gov. Gavin Newsom, who argued the situation did not require military force and warned the deployment could escalate tensions.

Despite Newsom's authority over the state National Guard, Trump took the unusual step of federalizing the forces, enabling him to bypass the governor's control. In response, Newsom mocked Trump's earlier praise of the Guard, noting that members had not yet arrived when the president commended their actions on Truth Social.

Newsom escalated his disagreement with the White House on Sunday by demanding that Trump withdraw California National Guard troops from the Los Angeles riots. Newsom declared on X that the deployment order was "unlawful" and urged the Trump administration to return control of the Guard to his office.

Hegseth said Sunday morning that Marines were prepared to deploy to Los Angeles if necessary.

Speaking to reporters, Trump described physical confrontations between demonstrators and officers, including incidents in which protesters allegedly spit on law enforcement.

"You know they spit, that's their new thing," Trump said. "And when that happens, I have a little statement...they spit, we hit. And I told them, nobody's going to spit on our police officers. Nobody's going to spit on our military."

He added, "Any protester who spits on police or military would get hit very hard."

Los Angeles Warzone: "Insurrectionist Mobs" Attack Cops, Set Fires, Block 101 Freeway

Watch Riots Live:

Update (1905ET):

What began as an anti–Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protest, coordinated by rogue Marxist-aligned nonprofits, on Friday night in downtown Los Angeles quickly spiraled into riots and chaos, escalating by Sunday into what sure seems like 'insurrectionist behavior' against the federal government.

"Now violent, insurrectionist mobs are swarming and attacking our Federal Agents to try and stop our deportation operations — But these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve," President Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump continued, "I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant Departments and Agencies, to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots."

"Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free," the president concluded.

Kyle Bass, Hayman Capital Management founder and CEO, wrote on X, "Organizing to impede the lawful execution of warrants by federal officers sure sounds like a massive RICO case. Do you think @actblue and CHIRLA has thought this through? If a group publicly announces it's going to commit murder… doesn't make murder any more legal."

What appears evident is that elements within the Democratic Party—from local L.A. leaders to D.C. elites, along with the law firms behind their sprawling dark-funded leftist NGO network—are orchestrating a coordinated color revolution. The goal appears to be placing Trump in politically difficult situations to shift public sentiment against the administration. This mirrors the strategy deployed by Democrats in 2020, when Marxist nonprofits, such as Black Lives Matter, were activated and mobilized to generate widespread unrest.

In response to the ongoing unrest in downtown Los Angeles, where it appears insurrectionist behavior is taking place by foreign nationals, including individuals in the U.S. illegally—we sought the perspective of Dr. David Asher, Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute and a leading expert on hybrid threats and transnational networks.

Asher's response was very straightforward: "They should be deported."

His statement underscores growing national security threats of illegal alien civil unrest instigated by Marxist-aligned NGOs.

Asher's concerns were shared by White House adviser Stephen Miller, with a post on X that read, "Look at all the foreign flags. Los Angeles is occupied territory."

Very well coordinated chaos by Marxist-aligned groups.

And well funded by the taxpayer!

Leftist militant group Antifa has entered the picture.

Chaos unfolds into the evening.

How does blocking traffic on the 101 Freeway advance an anti-ICE agenda? Simply put—it doesn’t. Much like the BLM riots that torched city blocks in 2020, this isn’t about helping the oppressed. It’s increasingly indistinguishable that these Marxist groups aimed at destabilizing the country.

500 U.S. Marines were activated.

Additional updates are expected throughout the overnight hours.

Los Angeles is bracing for yet another day of what appears to be coordinated rioting sparked by mass arrests of illegals by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The unrest has involved organized elements affiliated with far-left activist cells, including Marxist-aligned nonprofits (see below).

The situation over the last two days has quickly deteriorated into looting, arson—including the burning of vehicles—and direct assaults on law enforcement personnel. Indicators suggest a high degree of premeditation and online mobilization in what appears to be an attempt by Democratic Party-aligned actors to ignite a Mexican version of the Black Lives Matter riots, echoing the chaos seen during the 2020 "Summer of Love" color revolution.

On Saturday, the Trump administration announced they were federalizing 2,000 California National Guard troops, while DHS Secretary Kristi Noem also chimed in - posting on X that protesters who use violence against officers will be prosecuted - writing "You will not stop us or slow us down.'

President Trump also blamed California Governor Gavin 'Newscum' and LA Mayor Karen Bass Bass - saying in a Saturday night 'Truth' that if they can't do their jobs, "then the Federal Government will step in and solve the problem."

On Sunday, Trump posted

Great job by the National Guard in Los Angeles after two days of violence, clashes and unrest. We have an incompetent Governor (Newscum) and Mayor (Bass) who were, as usual (just look at how they handled the fires, and now their VERY SLOW PERMITTING disaster. Federal permitting is complete!), unable to to handle the task.

These Radical Left protests, by instigators and often paid troublemakers, will NOT BE TOLERATED. Also, from now on, MASKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to be worn at protests. What do these people have to hide, and why??? Again, thank you to the National Guard for a job well done!

White House spox Karoline Leavitt echoed Trump's comments, saying in a post on X: "President Trump will uphold law and order and continue to remove all dangerous illegal alien invaders from our country," adding "The mob violence will be quelled, the criminals responsible will be brought to justice, and operations to arrest illegal aliens will continue unabated."

Newsom, Bass, and the LAPD are downplaying the protests - framing it as fed overreach amid 'peaceful' protests between Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and protesters, after ICE agents carried out multiple immigration sweeps throughout the county.

California AG Rob Bonta said "There is no emergency and the President’s order calling in the National Guard is unnecessary and counterproductive."

Late Saturday, a Border Patrol Black Hawk helicopter could be seen unloading dozens of boxes of guns and ammo.

Meanwhile, the Deartment of Homeland Security accused Democratic leaders in California - including Governor Gavin Newsom (D) and Mayor Karen Bass (D) of contributing to the violence.

"The violent targeting of law enforcement in Los Angeles by lawless rioters is despicable and Mayor Bass and Governor Newsom must call for it to end," DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler called out Newsom and Mayor Bass - saying that the SBA will relocate its regional office out of LA 'immediately.'

And what do we have here?

The pallets of bricks have reappeared, echoing the same tactics seen during the 2020 riots.

On Saturday morning, we profiled one of the nonprofits behind the chaos — Unión del Barrio — whose manifesto is filled with explicit Marxist and communist rhetoric — appears to have become the next group Democrats are using as useful idiots.

DataRepublican noted that several NGOs are coordinating the chaos.

Further assessment is ongoing to determine the operational structure behind the violence and any external influence or coordination exerted by foreign adversaries

"As a reminder while riots rage in Los Angeles LA's Mayor, Karen Bass, was a Fidel Castro supporter She was a member of the Venceremos Brigade and made 7 trips to Cuba during the 1970s — when it was illegal for Americans to do so Later, she traveled there with Obama in 2016," Sequoia partner Shaun Maguire wrote on X.

And this.

CC Trump admin??  Maybe it's time to codify DOGE cuts.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s former running mate, Nicole Shanahan, pointed out:

I smell CIA/deep state all over this. Sanctuary cities like LA strategically encouraged erratic and violent migrants to seek refuge and now are using them to violently attack federal law enforcement officers.

They have no respect for our laws, they use our entitlements, and they destroy our cities. This will be the fate of all sanctuary cities if we let this madness continue.

"Foreigners who live in your land will gain more and more power, while you gradually lose yours. They will have money to lend you, but you will have none to lend them. In the end they will be your rulers" (Deut 28:43-45). These words were written thousands of years ago and still hold true today.

Newsom and Bass want this altercation with Trump. They will trade a city on fire if it means they can score political points. Meanwhile, California suffers. Will we ever wake up from this nightmare?

Los Angeles was a war zone in the overnight hours.

Los Angeles City Council Member Eunisses Hernandez (D) called to escalate the fight against ICE agents.

A key question emerging from the unrest is the extent to which illegal aliens are participating in the riots—and whether any individuals or groups may be acting under the influence of foreign intelligence agencies intent on fomenting social unrest within the U.S.

Given the indicators observed so far—coordinated action, ideological messaging, and tactical resemblance suggest the rogue nonprofits aligned with the Democratic Party are using "color revolution" frameworks in their attempt to spark nationwide riots. This incident should be evaluated as a potential national security threat, given the likely participation of foreign nationals.
