Spero Therapeutics announced that SPR720, an orally administered antimicrobial agent being developed for the treatment of non-tuberculous mycobacterial, or NTM, infections, has been granted qualified infectious disease product, or QIDP, designation by the FDA for the treatment of lung infections caused by non-tuberculous mycobacteria and lung infections caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
