FDA OKs generic daraprim

The FDA has approved Cerovene’s generic version of toxoplasmosis drug Daraprim (pyrimethamine).

Daraprim achieved notoriety in 2015 after Turing Pharmaceuticals, led by “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli, acquired the off-patent drug from Impax Labs for $55M then hiked the price 5,000%.

Mr. Shkreli is currently in prison (convicted in 2017) for securities fraud.
