Iran threatens to hit US bases in case of attack

 Iran's Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said on Thursday, while speaking on national television, that the United States military bases in the Gulf region could come under attack should Washington target Iran, with the response coming "instantly."

"If such a miscalculation is made by the Americans, it will certainly not unfold the way [US President Donald] Trump imagines - carrying out a quick operation and then, two hours later, tweeting that the operation is over," Akraminia stated.

If the two countries get entangled in a conflict, "the scope of the war will definitely encompass the entire region: from the Zionist regime to the countries where the United States has bases," the Iranian official cautioned.
