Innovent's General Biomedicine Pipeline to be Showcased at the ADA

Innovent Biologics (IVBIY) presented multiple research findings at the ADA 85th Scientific Sessions, showcasing two key drug candidates. IBI3030, a novel antibody-peptide conjugate, demonstrated significant improvements in cardiovascular risk markers through its multi-target approach combining PCSK9 inhibition with GLP-1R/GCGR/GIPR activation. Preclinical studies showed notable reductions in LDL-c, Lp(a), and body weight, with improved glucose tolerance. Additionally, three investigator-initiated studies of mazdutide, their dual GCG/GLP-1 receptor agonist, revealed superior efficacy compared to semaglutide in reducing liver fat accumulation, alleviating MASH and hepatic fibrosis, and lowering serum uric acid levels through enhanced fatty acid oxidation and metabolic regulation.

No school: Mamdani wanted to abolish high school exam because he thought it was racist

Socialist NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani once pushed to abolish the city’s admissions test for Gotham’s elite public high schools because he thought it was racist, The Post has learned.

The Queens assemblyman – who is second only to ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo in most polls heading into Tuesday’s Democratic mayoral primary – hasn’t said much about the topic on the campaign beyond telling Chalkbeat last week he’d support an independent study of the Specialized High Schools Admission Test for signal out gender and racial bias.

However, when asked by the Jim Owles Liberal Democratic Club in February 2022 to describe legislation and policy changes he supports to address “the ongoing effect of slavery, racism, colonialism and discrimination” Mamdani – a former specialized test tutor – singled out spiking the SHSAT.

“As a graduate of Bronx Science, I have personally witnessed just how segregated New York City public schools are, especially our specialized high school,” he said at the time.

“I support measures to integrate our public schools and fully fund our education system, including the abolition of the SHSAT.”

The SHSAT under state law is the sole criteria for entry into the city’s eight elite public high schools, including Bronx High School of Science, Stuyvesant and Brooklyn Tech.

Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi said the ex-gov has been and “continues to be in favor to keep the exam is.”

Former far-left Mayor Bill de Blasio tried twice to change the law while Cuomo ran the state, failing both times.

His chosen chancellor, Richard Carranza, once called the elite high schools “the epicenter of privilege,” citing a lack of black and Latino representation.

Reps for Mamdani did not return messages.

Expect Gov. Hochul’s new Parole Board picks to keep letting cop-killers walk free

Whatever her other efforts to undo New York state’s worst criminal-justice moves of recent years, Gov. Kathy Hochul doesn’t seem to be trying to clean up the pro-criminal Parole Board.

The just-finished legislative session saw the Senate quietly confirm four of her nominees to the board — two to fill longstanding vacancies, two to finally replace members installed by then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo whose terms had expired some time ago.

Going on four years after he resigned in a cloud of scandal, Cuomo picks until now still constituted a majority of the board, in part because Hochul hasn’t pushed to put her own stamp on it — perhaps out of a calculation that the progressive, pro-criminal faction that controls the state Senate wouldn’t confirm any tough-on-crime nominees, so what’s the point?

This bunch won’t make a difference on the let-’em-loose panel, which has sprung at least 43 cop-killers these last eight years.

It likely would’ve been 44, except the board last month kicked the can until after next week’s Democratic mayoral primary on releasing David McClary, the gangbanger convicted of assassinating Police Officer Edward Byrne in 1988.

With Cuomo running as tougher on crime than other Democrats, some suggest the delay was a bid to shield him from embarrassment before primary day.

Anyway, Hochul’s picks, who’ll rake in $190,000 for this part-time post, look unlikely to shift the board:

  • Lefty ex-Assemblyman Danny O’Donnell is a former public defender.
  • Darlene Grant Bruce serves on the board of a West Harlem community services nonprofit.
  • Elizabeth Kase is a defense attorney who specializes in cannabis law, and a partner at the politically wired firm Abrams Fensterman.
  • José Gomérez is at best a mystery: The NYPD veteran, born and raised in the Dominican Republic, abruptly resigned as Newburgh police commissioner in May 2024 after less than three years on the job.

  • Yet the simple fact is that the Senate wouldn’t have confirmed any Parole Board nominees it hard reason to think might get tough: It certainly balks at the gov’s efforts to keep the state’s courts from shifting further left.

Meanwhile, the Legislature keeps making it easier to qualify for parole, and the 2021 passage of the “Less is More” law, which Hochul signed in her first months as gov, also made it easier for parole violators to stay out of prison.

Bottom line: Hochul’s unwilling or unable (or both) to stand up to the left on this front, as on so many others.

So bet that Officer Byrne’s assassin will soon walk, with a steady parade of freed cop-killers and other bad guys to follow — until New York voters start demanding candidates who’ll actually support for law and order.

'Investors react to US attack on Iran nuclear sites'

U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday said that a "very successful attack" on three nuclear sites in Iran had been carried out. In a posting on Truth Social, Trump added, "All planes are safely on their way home" and he ended his posting saying, "Now is the time for peace."

Following are comments from some financial and corporate analysts:

JAMIE COX, MANAGING PARTNER, HARRIS FINANCIAL GROUP, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA:

“Oil is sure to spike on this initial news, but will likely level in a few days.  With this demonstration of force and total annihilation of its nuclear capabilities, they’ve lost all of their leverage and will likely hit the escape button to a peace deal."

MARK MALEK, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER, SIEBERT FINANCIAL, NYC:

"I think it’s going to be very positive for the stock market. I believe that on Friday if you’d asked me, I would have expected two weeks of volatility with markets trying to analyze every drib and drab of information coming out of the White House and I would have said that it would have been better to make a decision last week.

"So this will be reassuring, especially since it seems like a one and done situation and not as if (the US) is seeking a long, drawn out conflict. The biggest risk still out there is the Strait of Hormuz. It could certainly change everything if Iran has the capability to close it."

JACK ABLIN, CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER OF CRESSET CAPITAL:

"This adds a complicated new layer of risk that we'll have to consider and pay attention to... This is definitely going to have an impact on energy prices and potentially on inflation as well."

'World leaders react to US attack on Iran'

The reaction of world leaders after U.S. forces struck three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday Iran time ranged from Israel lauding President Donald Trump’s decision to the U.N. calling for de-escalation and some countries condemning the attacks.

ISRAEL PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, RECORDED STATEMENT:

"Congratulations, President Trump. Your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the awesome and righteous might of the United States will change history... History will record that President Trump acted to deny the world’s most dangerous regime the world’s most dangerous weapons."

U.N. SECRETARY-GENERAL ANTONIO GUTERRES, STATEMENT

"I am gravely alarmed by the use of force by the United States against Iran today. This is a dangerous escalation in a region already on the edge – and a direct threat to international peace and security. There is a growing risk that this conflict could rapidly get out of control – with catastrophic consequences for civilians, the region, and the world. I call on Member States to de-escalate and to uphold their obligations under the UN Charter and other rules of international law. At this perilous hour, it is critical to avoid a spiral of chaos. There is no military solution. The only path forward is diplomacy. The only hope is peace."

VENEZUELA FOREIGN MINISTER YVAN GIL, ON TELEGRAM:

"Venezuela Condemns U.S. Military Aggression Against Iran and Demands an Immediate Cessation of Hostilities. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela firmly and categorically condemns the bombing carried out by the United States military, at the request of the State of Israel, against nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan complexes."

MEXICO FOREIGN MINISTRY, ON X:

"The ministry urgently calls for diplomatic dialogue for peace between the parties involved in the Middle East conflict. In keeping with our constitutional principles of foreign policy and our country’s pacifist conviction, we reiterate our call to de-escalate tensions in the region. The restoration of peaceful coexistence among the states of the region is the highest priority."

CUBA PRESIDENT MIGUEL DIAZ-CANEL, ON X:

"We strongly condemn the US bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities, which constitutes a dangerous escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. The aggression seriously violates the UN Charter and international law and plunges humanity into a crisis with irreversible consequences."

Watch President Trump's address to the nation about US' bombing of Iran's nuclear sites: full video

FNC's Griffin: "In 18 Years, I've Never Seen Such Operational Security"

FOX News Pentagon correspondent Jennifer Griffin reports int eh immediate aftermath of the U.S. strike Saturday night on three of Iran's nuclear sites:

JENNIFER GRIFFIN: My phone has been ringing off the hook, but what I would say is that it's notable how much deception was involved in this operation.

All eyes were looking west toward Guam and the B-2s that took off late last night toward Guam. It's possible that the distance there would suggest that the B-2s may have also flown east from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.

Remember, the air refuelers—many of them were placed in Europe and in the Middle East—and that is what is known as an air refueling bridge. All of those B-2s would require much air refueling in order to make it. They usually fly round-trip from Whiteman.

And so what we can say—and the president said this in his Truth Social post—is that a full payload of bombs, those massive ordnance penetrators, the 30,000-pound bunker buster bombs, were dropped at Fordow.

As we have reported, there are two entrances to Fordow, so at least two bombs at each entrance, which suggests at least two B-2s were involved over Fordow. My suspicion is that there were more.

And then you have the two other sites: Natanz, which also has an underground enrichment facility. The Israelis had not been able to reach or take out that facility despite the last 10 days of bombing. And so now, U.S. warplanes—likely another B-2 bomber—had dropped that MOP, the 30,000-pound bunker buster, on Natanz.

Then you also have Isfahan, a third site south of Tehran, and that is also a very significant enrichment facility.

So those B-2 bombers—it’s possible that as everybody was looking west for the B-2s flying toward Guam, in fact there was another package, a squadron of B-2s, that were flying east from Whiteman. It's about a 15-hour trip from Whiteman in Missouri to the Middle East, to Iran. And those bombers often fly round-trip. It takes them about 30 hours to get home, but they are out of danger tonight. They are not in Iranian airspace anymore, according to the president.

The other thing I can point out is that this is an operation—in the last 18 years since I’ve been at the Pentagon—I’ve never seen such operational security. There was nobody speaking about this, any of the preparations. There was a complete lockdown—almost a blackout—of information for the last few days.

I’m sitting here in the Pentagon right now. I can tell you the hallways are empty. All of the information is coming right now out of the White House. That is a significant achievement because there were no leaks about the timing.

Now, sometimes I think those who—a lot of the flight trackers, the open-source intelligence flight trackers, that FlightRadar—did indicate some of when the B-2s took off from Whiteman. But again, nobody really expected that it would take place this evening.

If you looked at the moon schedule, you might have had a clue, because it was a waning crescent and almost a new moon on the 25th. So it would have been very, very dark over Iran tonight. And you need that in order to bomb. That’s the ideal condition for something like a B-2 that is—yes—itself stealth, but it still has to be escorted in, in case Iran were to put up any planes or there were any opportunities to fire on those B-2s, which are such valuable and very, very special planes.

Only the U.S. military has this kind of weaponry and this capability. No other country in the world could have carried off what occurred tonight at those three uranium enrichment sites.
