Sinaloa cartel leader admits to CNN Trump’s border crackdown stiffles criminal operations

An alleged Sinaloa cartel leader admitted President Trump’s aggressive border policies have made the illegal work of the powerful Mexican drug gang more difficult in an interview with CNN.

An anonymous member of El Chapo’s former gang explained that Trump’s immigration and drug policies have put a damper on their black-market tradecraft in a bizarre interview with the news station’s senior national correspondent, David Culver, in the back of an SUV.

“From killing to coordinating smuggling operations, he says he’s done it all,” Culver said, referring to Trump.

“Do you think what President Trump has been doing has been making your job tougher?” He asked the confessed killer and cartel boss.

“Oh yeah. Yeah,” the gang member — dressed in a black mask, sunglasses, black gloves, and a hat to conceal his identity — admitted flatly.

“So it’s becoming more difficult, you think?” Culver prodded.

“Yep,” the supposed gangbanger said.

The CNN report further revealed that cartels are now charging much more to get migrants across the southern US border because of the Trump crackdown on illegal migration.

Border-hoppers are now expected to pay $10,000 each instead of about $6,500 per person prior to the Trump-era policies, according to Fox News.

The hardened criminal said that though he has killed people, he considers himself a good person.

“I did what I had to do,” he said.

In the interview, the Sinaloan cartel leader expressed that he came forward to speak with CNN, hoping to deter others from joining drug gangs.

“It’s not a life. It’s not good,” the man said in broken English.

“Once you get in, you can’t get out,” he warned in Spanish.

The anonymous man is not the first Sinaloan cartel member to credit the Trump administration for its robust approach to halting the human and drug trafficking operations at the southern border.

Margarito “Jay” Flores Jr., who made millions with his twin brother as members of El Chapo’s cartel, praised the president in an interview last month.

“I think the aggressive approach is going to send a strong message to every drug trafficker across Latin America and places like Venezuela that’s used as a transport hub from Mexican cartels and Colombian organizations,” Flores told Fox News.

That “aggressive approach” is continuing with the United States prepping for attacks against drug gangs deep inside Venezuela, according to an NBC News report.

Hegseth Plans Widespread Random Polygraphs, NDAs Amid Leak Fears

First there was a short-notice all generals and admirals meeting at Quantico Tuesday, following a summer of some top command firings and reshufflings, and on Wednesday The Washington Post is reporting that polygraph testing will commence for some high-placed Pentagon commanders.

This is reportedly to prevent leaks to the press, amid a climate of perceived 'disloyalty' and dissent against Defense Secretary (or War Secretary) Pete Hegseth. Polygraphs are typically used in the military or intelligence community in cases of suspected foreign espionage or instances of suspicion of handing off classified information. Hegseth has already greatly narrowed his trusted inner-circle.

"All military service members, civilian employees and contract workers within the office of the defense secretary and the Joint Staff, estimated to be more than 5,000 personnel, would be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement," WaPo says.

The agreement "prohibits the release of non-public information without approval or through a defined process" - which is spelled out in a draft memo from Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg.

There is an additional directive from Feinberg which establishes a random polygraph program for said officials, but it's unclear if there's any limit to the scope - suggesting that even four-star generals and admirals could be subject.

While there already exist laws and policies covering unauthorized disclosure of classified, restricted, or sensitive information, this is clearly part of a broader push to tighten up leaks.

One legal critic cited by the Post dubs this an "overboard NDA" which will be used to intimidate:

“This seems to be far more directed at ensuring loyalty to DOD [the Department of Defense] and the Trump administration leadership rather than countering any foreign espionage,” said Mark Zaid, a lawyer who has represented multiple whistleblowers and government officials targeted by the Trump administration.

“There are reasons why individuals were not required to take polygraphs before. And I would question why now the polygraph, and an overbroad NDA is being required other than to intimidate the workforce and ensure tighter control.”

Apparently Pentagon leadership under the Trump administration has in the recent past already conducted such random polygraph tests in some limited cases, in prior leaks to the news media.

This certainly isn't the first major controversy to emerge under Hegseth regarding distrust, disunity, and threats of hunting down internal leakers. The Wall Street Journal wrote back in April:

Word had leaked that he was planning a classified briefing for Elon Musk on China, a revelation that infuriated President Trump and raised alarms inside the Pentagon given Musk’s business ties to Beijing.

“I’ll hook you up to a f—ing polygraph!” Hegseth shouted at Adm. Christopher Grady, the then-acting chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, according to two people familiar with the exchange. Hegseth demanded proof that Grady hadn’t leaked news of the March 21 briefing.

Grady was never subjected to a polygraph, and Hegseth would go on to accuse a number of other people for the leak, including Lt. Gen. Doug Sims, the Joint Staff director, whom Hegseth also threatened with a polygraph test.

But for Hegseth, the episode marked a turning point in an already rocky tenure. Coming just days after revelations that the former Fox News host had shared sensitive military information in unsecured group chats on Signal, the leaks deepened his frustrations and eroded his trust in his close circle of advisers, the officials say.

However, White House staffers have pushed back when such polygraph threats spilled over into their domain, and President Trump reportedly intervened to temporarily halt it, prior reports say.

The controversy ensued into the summer, though some cast doubt on the media reports...

The reality too is that leaks to the media are a fairly standard part of any administration, going back through American history. Trump likely knows this, but is naturally leery of any further efforts of deep state operatives sabotaging his administration and its policies.

Trump Keeps Oil Permits Flowing In Shutdown, Some Renewables On Hold

 By Charles Kennedy of OilPrice.com

The Trump administration will keep oil and gas permitting moving unhindered, despite the federal government shutdown that began on Wednesday, while approvals for renewable energy projects will halt, according to Interior Department plans seen by industry media.

Staff at the Bureau of Land Management, which oversees 245 million acres of public land, have been exempted from furloughs to continue processing leases and drilling permits. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) said it will use carryover funds to maintain work on “priority conventional energy projects,” including offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska, even as more than 70% of its staff are furloughed. Dozens of oil and gas lease auctions remain on schedule.

Renewable projects will not receive the same protection. BOEM confirmed that offshore wind and other non-fossil approvals will pause until government funding is restored. The approach follows President Donald Trump’s earlier declaration of a national energy emergency, which gave the Department of Interior discretion to sustain fossil fuel development during a shutdown, according to transportation industry source TTNews

The shutdown, which began October 1, has left hundreds of thousands of federal employees on furlough, and the energy sector could be impacted from the loss of regular government data releases. A prolonged shutdown could disrupt statistics essential for oil and gas trading, with delayed reports on inventories, production, and exports reducing transparency and adding volatility to markets.

Trump made similar choices during the 2018-2019 shutdown, the most significant of shutdowns, as it lasted for 35 days. During this time, Trump ensured that drilling permits were processed. By contrast, Barack Obama’s administration suspended auctions and halted drilling approvals during the 2013 shutdown.

Iran-Aligned Houthis Sanction US Oil Majors

 By Charles Kennedy of OIlPrice.com

Major U.S. oil companies and their top managers were targeted by sanctions by a Yemeni body affiliated with the Iran-aligned Houthi rebels, for what they say is violating a Houthi embargo.

The Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center (HOCC), a Houthi-affiliated body created last year to liaise between the Houthis and commercial shipping operators, sanctioned 13 U.S. oil companies, nine executives, and two assets linked to the U.S.

“The HOCC will employ all available means and instruments to confront any hostile measures taken by any State or group against the Republic of Yemen, in accordance with the applicable laws and relevant regulations,” according to the executive director of the HOCC.

Units of ExxonMobil, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Phillips 66, Marathon Petroleum, Valero, and Occidental are among the companies designated by the Houthi-aligned entity, as are their top executives including Exxon CEO Darren Woods, Chevron CEO Mike Wirth, and ConocoPhillips CEO Ryan Lance.

“It remains unclear whether these sanctions signal that the Houthis will begin targeting vessels linked to the sanctioned organizations, companies, and individuals — a move that would risk violating the ceasefire agreement with the Trump administration, facilitated by Oman,” Middle East analyst Mohammed Al-Basha posted on LinkedIn.

“Why now? The Houthis say this action is taken under the principle of reciprocity, a response to U.S. sanctions — despite Oman’s May 6, 2025 announcement of a de-escalation and ceasefire between the U.S. and them,” Al-Basha wrote.

The Houthi sanctions come as the Middle East is again the focus of geopolitical events this week, with the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza, the 20-point peace plan for Gaza unveiled by U.S. President Donald Trump and accepted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the snapback of the United Nations sanctions on Iran.

Moreover, the Houthis on Wednesday claimed responsibility for an attack on a Netherlands-flagged cargo ship earlier this week. The Monday attack on the Minervagracht left the vessel ablaze and adrift in the Gulf of Aden.

ICE officers to attend Super Bowl after Bad Bunny announcement, says Lewandowski

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will attend the 2026 Super Bowl, where Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny is set to headline the halftime show, according to Corey Lewandowski, an adviser at the Department of Homeland Security.

“There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else,” Lewandowski said Wednesday on “The Benny Show.”

“We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you. So know that that is a very real situation under this administration, which is completely contrary to what how it used to be,” he said.

The NFL confirmed Sunday that Bad Bunny, a three-time Grammy winner, will headline the halftime show at the 2026 Super Bowl, set to be in Santa Clara, Calif.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown … this is for my people, my culture and our history,” Bad Bunny said in a statement Sunday.

Last month, Bad Bunny told i-D Magazine that he is not performing in the U.S. during his forthcoming world tour due to, in part, concerns over ICE raids at his concerts.

“But there was the issue of — like, f‑‑‑ing ICE could be outside [my concerts]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about,” the artist told the magazine.

Lewandowski, who worked as Trump’s campaign manager during the 2016 election, slammed the NFL for picking Bad Bunny to headline the event next year.

“It’s so shameful that they’ve decided to pick somebody who just seems to hate America so much to represent them at the halftime game,” he said.

“I was at the Super Bowl last year with President Trump. I had the chance to be in Louisiana in his box and watch the game, and got to enjoy that,” Lewandowski told Benny Johnson. “But listen, we should be trying to be inclusive and not exclusive. There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people out there who could be playing at that show that would be bringing people together and not separating them.”

“I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else. We’re going to do enforcement everywhere. We are going to make Americans safe. That is a directive from the president. If you’re in this country illegally, do yourself a favor: go home.”

A Shutdown Could Restore America To True Constitutional Governance

“The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.” US Constitution, Article II, §1, Clause 1.

The Constitution starts with a Preamble, or statement of purpose. Article I describes the Legislative branch, Article II the Presidency, and Article III the Judiciary. Those are the only branches of our federal government. Articles IV-VII are largely devoted to various processes. It would seem that this would be a pretty simple set of ideas for almost any sentient commentator to understand.

Yet we hear a constant drumbeat of “the Department of Justice has to operate independently from the President!” This comes from numerous legal commentators, mostly on the left, who think that presidential oversight of the DOJ is tantamount to Vito Corleone managing the New York Police Department.

Image created using AI.

The headline on the September 30 Dispatch email newsletter reads, “Trump’s Politicized DOJ.” This supposedly neutral outlet went on at length about how Trump fired the US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and installed his own former legal counsel, Lindsey Halligan (“and a former Miss Colorado USA semifinalist”), to the post. Pronto, right after a prod from the President on Truth Social, we get the Comey indictment, meaning that “justice” equals “retribution.” Not!

Horror of horrors! Another attractive woman is in a high government post! Who knows what moniker will be hung on her to join “DHS Barbie” (DHS Secretary Kristi Noem) and “Pam Blondie” (Attorney General Pam Bondi)? How sexist can one be?

Trump married a beautiful woman and has had a number of attractive high achievers on his (Yuge!) staff. Is that a crime? Or is it simply that the left is so overpopulated with women who would repel most self-respecting men that pleasant physical attributes have to be denigrated? Right. They’re just jealous of Sydney Sweeney.

In the world of legal analysis, the concern is something called “the unitary Executive theory.” Big government advocates and a lot of misinformed “good government” dupes actually believe that there are four branches of government. The Legislative, Executive, and Judicial are, by congressional fiat, overseen by the “Expert” branch. Supposedly, there are tasks that are just too technical for supervision by any elected official. These require “subject matter experts.”

Our experience with subject matter experts should inform us (we, the People, the ultimate subject matter experts on government) that everything the government does impairs us. COVID is a classic.

We were told by Anthony “I am science” Fauci that we didn’t need masks since it was spread by contact. It wasn’t, and we knew that, but we still wasted our hard-earned money on gallons of hand sanitizer, the only benefit of which was to pad the pockets of manufacturers and alcohol distillers. Then he decreed that we did, in fact, need masks, and double masking was even better. All the while, he attended baseball games without a mask.

And then we have his infamous “social distancing,” which in Florida was identified as “one gator length” between people in a line.

Image provided by the author.

Finally, Fauci was forced to admit that social distancing had been pulled from his dupa. There had never been any medical data to support it. And that is exactly what we should expect from “subject matter experts.” If they work for the government, they’re wrong. Full stop. Maybe there are some exceptions, but none readily come to mind.

The Supreme Court has even been willing to give the Federal Reserve leeway, but recent history should again show that even those “experts” are spitting in the wind when they make decisions. In short, “expert agencies” is an oxymoron. Which brings us back to the Constitution.

Article I, §8 has a long list of powers delegated to Congress beginning with “to borrow money.” The jobs that most expert agencies do aren’t on the list, either. When they are, Congress has been too busy meddling in our lives to properly direct those agencies.

Unfortunately, a New Deal-era case called Humphrey’s Executor allowed Congress to create bodies headed by people that the President could hire but couldn’t fire. But fortunately for freedom, the Court has begun peeling that protection back via Seila Law and a number of procedural rulings on the Rocket Docket.

It is increasingly clear that all personnel decisions in the Executive Branch are ultimately exercised by the President. Which brings us to our current situation.

In that immortal line from Western movies, it’s time to head them off at the impasse. Dems are demanding “unity,” which means that we surrender to them and spend a trillion and a half dollars we don’t have to “keep the government open.”

But since government is the problem, why should we? In the words of the prophet Amos (3:3), “Can two walk together unless they are in agreement?”

We don’t agree with all your leftist manure. We can have unity, but only if, for the first time in a century, you decide to come our direction. But after the most recent White House conference on the subject, Dems are doubling down, and that’s after Russ Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, announced that the shutdown would be accompanied by job cuts.

The dirty little secret that Dems don’t want you to remember is that, historically, the poor, helpless, unrepresented federal employees who didn’t get paid during a shutdown have actually gotten a paid vacation since every act to re-open the government gave them back pay. But there’s a different secret that Dems are forgetting.

If the government isn’t funded, no job in any unfunded agency technically exists. And if the agencies and programs don’t exist, even for one day, every employee in those agencies and programs can be terminated without any civil service protection or benefits. Your job was cut, and you were collateral damage. Do not pass GO. Do not collect $200.

Just think of how many homes in Northern Virginia would suddenly be for sale. What a way to turn Virginia Red! I’m sure that my astute reader will find details both pro and con, but ultimately, the absence of all those federal jobs would be a major benefit. But wait! There’s more!

We should expose the Dems for the hypocrites that they are at every chance, and the shutdown gives us a golden opportunity. Majority Leader Thune should bring the Continuing Resolution (which continues Biden’s last “budget”) to the floor for a vote.

Chucky Schumer will announce a filibuster, which requires seven Dem votes to break. Since the Dems have their feet in concrete, hand them the microphone and tell them to start talking. Every minute they blather is a minute that the public sees them for what they are. Get in front of the TV cameras and explain that they are opposing their own budget that they passed last year.

When they finally cave, bring single department “spaghetti appropriations” to the Senate, without the jobs the OMB already cut. Let them filibuster again. Explain on the Sunday shows that non-essential jobs are non-essential and don’t belong in the government.

Do all this and get ready for a real Red Tsunami.

Democrats apparently believe constitutional rights protect illegal aliens but not American citizens

Des Moines Public Schools Superintendent Ian Roberts, 54, was recently arrested.

Federal officials say the “educator,” who was pulling down a cool $286,000 a year, was living and working in the country illegally, despite holding one of the state’s most prominent and public jobs.

Roberts was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on Sept. 26 after fleeing a traffic stop and abandoning his district-issued vehicle. Authorities found him carrying a loaded handgun and thousands of dollars in cash.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Roberts is a native of Guyana who overstayed a student visa and was ordered deported by an immigration judge in May of 2024.

According to NBC News, an ICE field office director said: “This should be a wake-up call for our communities,” adding, “How this illegal alien was hired without work authorization, a final order of removal, and a prior weapons charge is beyond comprehension and should alarm the parents of that school district.”

Yet it appears, in pathetically hyper-tolerant fashion, some in the local community are rallying around Roberts, the gun-toting illegal alien with a prior weapons charge and several previous legal entanglements. (Roberts served as superintendent of Millcreek Township School District in Pennsylvania prior to making his way to the Hawkeye State. That school district paid out over $403,000 to resolve complaints tied to administrative decisions Roberts allegedly made during his tenure there, including a couple for gender discrimination.)

Some Democrats, such as Jackie Norris, who oversaw the Des Moines, Iowa School Board for several years while Roberts ran that city’s public schools, have hastened to publicly defend Roberts. (Norris is the former chief of staff for former first lady Michelle Obama.)

How is it that progressives/Democrats are suddenly rock-ribbed Second Amendment advocates in this case? How could anyone believe that unvetted illegal aliens should be allowed to carry loaded handguns but law-abiding American citizens with permits to carry should not be allowed to do so?

Oh, I see, we are not permitted to defend ourselves against unvetted illegal aliens carrying loaded handguns. (Apparently, that is a little-known codicil of The Great Replacement Theory, which is not a theory but an obvious fact.)

In the fevered minds of the desperately mentally ill and/or permanently power mad (i.e., Democrats), criminals should have the right to carry guns but long-time law-abiding citizens definitively should not.

Beam me up, Scotty. (Here’s a link to this reference for those of you under 60-years-old.)

In related stories, Democrats want to shut down the United States government if Republicans don’t commit to spending a trillion dollars on health care for illegal aliens.

And New York City Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani has committed to spending more than $100 million on legal defense services for illegal aliens, taken from the pockets of American taxpayers. (Does “legal” services for “illegals” even make sense?)

My God, wake up Americans! Or this won’t be America much longer.
