Ryabkov: Russia, Cuba to cooperate in energy

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated on Monday that cooperation between Russia and Cuba continues "in all areas," and that the two countries will continue work on joint projects.

"A number of promising joint projects in energy, metallurgy, transportation, agriculture, biopharmaceuticals and biotechnology, information and communications technology, and education are being developed and are already under implementation," Ryabkov said at the opening of the exhibition dedicated to Cuban revolutionaries in Moscow.

Russian officials have repeatedly shown support for the island nation amid the American blockade of energy. Earlier, Moscow condemned the indictment of Cuba's former President Raul Castro.

IDF orders evacuation of Beirut's southern outskirts

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued an evacuation warning to residents of Beirut's southern suburbs ahead of airstrikes.

"If the terrorist Hezbollah continues launching rockets towards Israeli cities and towns, the Defense Army will respond by targeting objectives in the southern Dahiya," IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on X, stressing that Israel is not fighting Lebanese people but the military group.

US downs 2 Iranian missiles targeting Kuwait base

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed on Monday that its forces "successfully intercepted" and "immediately defeated" two Iranian ballistic missiles targeting American forces stationed in Kuwait. The agency added that no US personnel were harmed.

"US Central Command remains vigilant and will continue to protect our forces from Iranian aggression while supporting the ongoing ceasefire," CENTCOM wrote in an X post.

The attacks came after the US claimed to have carried out "self-defense strikes on Iranian radar and command and control sites for drones" over the weekend in retaliation for earlier Iranian aggressions.

Iran said to halt US talks, completely close Hormuz

Iran ended the negotiations with the United States over Israeli strikes on Lebanon and will completely shut the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Tasnim News Agency reported on Monday.

According to the outlet, Tehran suspended "talks and exchanges of messages through mediators" due to "continued crimes of the Zionist regime in Lebanon," as the resolution of the Lebanon crisis was one of Iran's preconditions for peace. The Iranian side accused the US of "violating the ceasefire on all fronts."

Tehran is said to completely shut the critical Strait of Hormuz, as well as the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, in order to "punish the Zionists and their supporters."
