Iran said to deny sending new proposal to US

 Iran allegedly denied sending a new peace proposal to the United States, according to the Iranian semi-official Fars News Agency, citing a source close to the country's negotiating team.

Earlier today, various media reports suggested that Tehran sent a draft ceasefire proposal to the US, which Washington allegedly found "acceptable."

In addition, the New York Times also reported previously that US officials believe Iran could agree to suspend uranium enrichment for 15 years as part of a potential nuclear agreement between the two countries.

Russia to block UNSC from taking action against Iran

 Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said on Tuesday that Moscow would block the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) from taking any action against Iran within the framework of the sanctions committee.

"Our country will not allow the Council, under the guise of this body, to adopt any decisions that impose restrictions on member states," Nebenzya clarified at a UNSC meeting. The sanctions panel oversees measures against Iran imposed by the UNSC Resolution 1737 in 2006, over failing to halt its nuclear enrichment program.

The envoy declared that Moscow considers the committee ceased to exist in 2015 after the adoption of a new resolution repealing earlier nuclear-related restrictions. He added that the UNSC violated this decision reached after the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, China, and the United States signed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to limit Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

Russia: Drone flying toward Moscow downed

 Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed on Tuesday that the Russian military shot down a drone flying toward the capital.

"Another drone has been destroyed. Emergency services are working at the site of the crash," Sobyanin wrote on the Max messaging application.

Earlier in the day, Sobyanin said that the Russian Defense Ministry's air defense systems downed two drones heading toward Moscow.

UN: Hamas executed dozens of Palestinians in Gaza

 The United Nations' Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights claimed on Tuesday that Hamas beat, maimed and publicly executed dozens of Palestinians in Gaza during the military conflict in Israel.

According to the UN report, the military group committed war crimes, which were frequently publicized to instill fear in the population.

"These cases involved executions, kneecapping, bone-breaking with metal pipes or cement bricks, and beatings and were framed by the perpetrators as punishments for alleged collaboration with Israel, looting humanitarian aid, theft, drug-related offenses or affiliations with internal rivals," it was stated in the report.

'Zelensky: Russia may be altering course of drones'

 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed on Tuesday that Russia is altering the course of Ukrainian drones through electronic warfare systems, causing them to enter the airspace of neighboring countries.

In a post on X, Zelensky said that when drones appear in the skies over Latvia, Lithuania, or Estonia after Ukrainian strikes, "we understand that the Russians may be altering the course of our drones." He added that such incidents were caused by Russian electronic warfare systems and accused Moscow of seeking to escalate tensions within the European Union.

Zelensky said Ukraine and Estonia signed a joint declaration on security and defense cooperation, including air defense, defense industry cooperation, and the exchange of experience. He added that Kyiv is prepared to share expertise on countering drone threats with European partners and send expert teams under the "Drone Deal" format. Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Russia is in a "situation of failure."

Pfizer, Zai Lab win China nod for cervical cancer therapy Tivdak

 Chinese biotech Zai Lab Limited (ZLAB) announced late Monday that Chinese regulators approved its antibody-drug conjugate Tivdak, developed with Pfizer (PFE) and Genmab (GMAB), as a late-line treatment for adults with cervical cancer.

Specifically, China’s National Medical Products Administration has cleared the Biologics License Application for Tivdak, targeted at adults with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer who have previously undergone chemotherapy.

The decision is supported by data from a global Phase 3 trial called innovaTV 301, which indicated that the injectable led to a benefit in overall survival compared to chemotherapy in the targeted patient population, including a subset of Chinese patients.

An estimated 150K patients are diagnosed with cervical cancer in China each year, with those having the recurrent or metastatic forms of the disease having to deal with the cancer progression due to limited treatment options.

In 2022, Zai Lab (ZLAB) received exclusive licensing rights to develop and commercialize Tivdak in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan as part of an agreement with Seagen, which Pfizer (PFE) acquired in 2023 for $43B.
