Hologic (NASDAQ:HOLX) announces that
Hannover Medical School in Germany has developed a test for SARS-CoV-2,
the coronavirus causing the current outbreak, that can be performed on
its automated Panther Fusion analyzer.
The company says the Open Access functionality of
the system allows accredited laboratories to design and validate
laboratory developed tests (LDTs) to run on the platform.
It launched Panther in Europe in 2010 and in the U.S. in 2012.
