- Ocular Therapeutix (OCUL +5.3%) has submitted supplemental marketing application with the FDA for Dextenza (dexamethasone ophthalmic insert) 0.4 mg for intracanalicular use. If approved, this application would include the treatment of ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis as an additional approved indication of Dextenza.
- The med was originally approved by the FDA in December 2018 for the treatment of ocular pain following ophthalmic surgery, and in June 2019, Dextenza was approved for the treatment of both ocular inflammation and pain following ophthalmic surgery.
