Shares of Moderna Inc. MRNA, -1.43% were down 0.2% in trading on Thursday after the company said it had hired an Amgen executive to run commercial operations as it rolls out the first doses of its COVID-19 vaccine, in the U.S. and elsewhere. Corinne Le Goff, a pharmacist by trade and the former president of the U.S. business at Amgen Inc. AMGN, 0.49%, will begin her role as chief commercial officer on Jan. 19, reporting to CEO Stéphane Bancel. Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine is the company's first authorized or approved product, and the company is now tasked with building a commercial enterprise to support the vaccine and any future authorized or approved products. Moderna's stock has rallied 553.2% over the last year, while the S&P 500 SPX, 1.48% is up 15.4%.
