Taxpayers, Women Shouldn't Have to Keep Planned Parenthood on Life Support

In case you missed it, the latest tranche of strategically placed fearmongering political ads rolled out. You can now watch desperation in real time as pro-abortion groups circle the wagons to protect each other from being defunded by Congress. Their ads cry out, ‘Your healthcare will be taken away, your medical costs will skyrocket.’ Which would be tragic...if it were true. But it’s just the latest version of the same type of scare tactics that lost them every branch of federal government in the last election.

NARAL, now known as the euphemistically heavy ‘Reproductive Rights for All,’ is running attack ads covering for Planned Parenthood, as it faces intense public scrutiny. The ads tell voters that if Planned Parenthood loses funding, then women will lose all of their healthcare options. The ad claims that healthcare failures should be laid at the feet of specific Republican lawmakers all while ignoring Planned Parenthood’s death spiral.

The ads include the tired, predictable Democrat talking points from the 2010s, saying defunding Planned Parenthood “means fewer breast exams and cancer screenings, and less access to the birth control so many of us rely on.” The truth is Planned Parenthood already robs women of this now. Their latest annual report shows their services beyond abortion have been on the rapid decline for years. While they rake in more tax dollars at an increase of 43% since 2010, their cancer screenings, breast exams and pap smears have all fallen by more than 70%. And their contraception services are down by 39%. And despite deceptive messaging, Planned Parenthood does not perform any mammograms.

The services that have gone up are abortiongender transitions and political campaigns to defeat Donald Trump and Republicans. Planned Parenthood alone took the lives of nearly 400,000 babies in a year – the equivalent to New Orleans’ entire population. When a pregnant woman walks into a Planned Parenthood, 97% of the time she's sold an abortion and leaves without her child rather than being helped and empowered to choose parenting or make an adoption plan.

When the New York Times publishes an expose about substandard care at Planned Parenthood, we know the truth is finally breaking through. A recent New York Times report from February 2025 uncovered shocking examples of poor patient care--including a child who was stillborn when Planned Parenthood implanted an IUD when a woman was pregnant and a days-long sewage leak in a Nebraska facility that caused women to vomit. In Missouri, a Planned Parenthood was shut down for using moldy abortion equipment on women. In Colorado, an 18-year-old girl recently died from an abortion Planned Parenthood conducted at 22 weeks. Planned Parenthood has also ended the lives of women like Cree ErwinTonya Reaves, and Alyona Dixon.

As cancer screenings and contraceptive services plummet at Planned Parenthood, the entity’s political donations have ramped up. Rather than devote dollars to keep up with basic health standards to keep women safe, the New York Times says Planned Parenthood is investing more in politics. As they were receiving nearly $2 million a day from taxpayers, Planned Parenthood spent a record-breaking $69.5 million during the 2024 election cycle alone to elect Kamala Harris and Democrats.

Women will not have less access to quality healthcare if Planned Parenthood is defunded. That is a lie they need you to believe. The truth is that women will receive much better, more comprehensive care from community health clinics that accept Medicaid. According to new data from the Charlotte Lozier Institute, community health clinics outnumber Planned Parenthoods 15:1. And women choose them over Planned Parenthood already.

That is why pro-life leaders in all 50 states came together to sign a letter calling for Congress to end the public funding of abortion businesses which profit off the leading cause of death in America. Recently, hundreds of citizen lobbyists came to Washington, D.C. to let every Republican in Congress know that we must put a stop to the $500+ million Planned Parenthood receives in Medicaid funding every year.

When we defund Big Abortion, Medicaid recipients will receive better, more comprehensive care. Let’s free Americans from the tax-burden of artificially keeping Planned Parenthood alive. Americans no longer want to subsidize the industry that endangers women, kills unborn children and spends millions to elect woke politicians.
