White House physician Sean Barbabella pointed to President Trump’s “frequent victories in golf events” as evidence of the commander-in-chief’s “excellent health” and “robust” neurological condition in a memo on his physical examination results.
In a glowing health memo released Sunday that detailed very few health ailments against the 78-year-old commander in chief, Barbabella extolled Trump’s physician condition.
“President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” Barbabella wrote in the memo released by the White House.
“His active lifestyle continues to contribute significantly to his well-being,” he added. “President Trump’s days include participation in multiple meetings, public appearances, press availability, and frequent victories in golf events.”
After getting his physical last Friday, Trump bragged to reporters about acing a cognitive test he was given while throwing shade at former President Joe Biden. Barbabella claimed Trump scored a “normal” 30 out of 30.
“I felt I was in very good shape. Good heart,” Trump told reporters Friday after his examination at Walter Reed National Medical Center. “I took a cognitive test. I don’t know what to tell you other than I got every answer right.”
“I think it’s a pretty well-known test. I’ve taken the test four times. I’ve got nothing wrong,” he said, referring to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. “That’s what the American people want. Biden refused to take it. Kamala refused to take it.”
Barbabella also said that Trump is 75 inches tall and weighs 224 pounds, suggesting that he’s lost a significant amount of weight since his first term. Back in 2019, for instance, Trump’s doctor said that he weighed 243 pounds.
At a reported 224 pounds, Trump is still technically overweight but not obese, according to his body mass index.
Other vital signs looked decent. Trump’s blood pressure clocked in at 128/74, which is elevated but not yet high blood pressure, per the American Heart Association.
His resting heart rate was 62 beats per minute, which the AHA says is normal.
Additionally, Trump is on two medications to address his cholesterol: rosuvastatin and ezetimibe, with his total level at 140 mg/dl — which is “optimal,” according to Barbabella.
“His medical history is notable for well-controlled hypercholesterolemia, seasonal allergies, a history of COVID-19 infection, well-managed rosacea, actinic keratosis, benign nevi, diverticulosis and a benign colon polyp,” Barbabella noted.
Since his 2016 campaign, Trump has released numerous glowing health reports from his doctors to the public.
Trump had tapped Barbabella as his physician earlier this year. Barbabella is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan who earned a Purple Heart after being badly injured when an improvised explosive device was set off during his first tour.
