NRG Energy Inc. plunged 16% after the power producer’s first deal to supply electricity to data underwhelmed investors.
The company announced 295 megawatts in data-center power supply contracts on Wednesday. The agreements paled in size and scope to recent deal announcements by rivals such as Constellation Energy Corp. and Talen Energy Corp.
