Egyptian and Qatari mediators warned Hamas on Wednesday night to withdraw its operatives from the areas of the Gaza Strip controlled by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) within 24 hours or risk being exposed to Israeli troops' fire, The Times of Israel reported on Thursday, citing a US official.
According to the report, the deadline expired at 8:00 pm local time (7:00 pm CET), leaving Israel with the approval of the United States, Egypt and Qatar to target Hamas' fighters on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line.
However, the news outlet reported that the demarcation line has not been precisely determined to date, so Israeli troops on the ground are often uncertain about the extent of their operating area.
