A threat to block the Bab el-Mandeb Strait was "the winning card" of the "resistance front," Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Commander Brigadier General Esmail Qaani claimed on Monday.
Speaking to the state broadcaster, Qaani said that the United States was "extremely concerned" about the resistance's moves in the Bab el-Mandeb, stressing that "other cards will be revealed" if needed. "The American-Zionist enemy has lost all honor wherever it has clashed with the resistance," he noted.
Iran has repeatedly threatened to close the Bab el-Mandeb, a strait between the Arabian Peninsula and the Horn of Africa, and a major shipping route, after blocking another vital waterway, the Strait of Hormuz, at the beginning of the war against the US and Israel.
