Over 8,000 Syrian Alawites Flee To Russian Base Amid Jihadist Killings: 'We Need Russian Protection'

A new wave of refugees are fleeing Syria amid several days of sectarian-driven killings mainly targeting Alawites, and in some cases Christians, along the coastal areas in Tartus and Latakia governates.

Fresh reports say that over 10,000 Syrians have entered the Lebanese region of Akkar as nearly 20 villages have opened up to the displaced. More are said to be headed further south to the large Lebanese city of Tripoli.

Though Tripoli has long been Lebanon's Sunni stronghold, one of its neighborhoods, Jabal Mohsen, has a large Alawite population - where many of the refugees are believed headed, possibly connecting with friends or relatives as well.

However, this could create new tensions in Lebanon, given that historically Lebanese and Syrians don't get along very well, and economically depressed Lebanon can't handle thousands more refugees settling within its borders.

Tripoli has in recent history seen its share of sectarian clashes, and Sunni radicals there are likely to resist a mass new influx of Alawites from Syria.

Currently there is some evidence that more jihadists are traveling to the Syrian coast to continue their ethno-religious cleansing campaign, despite public statements of the Jolani regime calling for an end to the attacks. Some pundits suspect that the killings have Jolani's tacit approval.

They attackers are a mix of ruling Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) soldiers, as well as foreign fighters. Of course, the foreign fighters are allied with their follow Sunni radicals in HTS.

There have been reports of roads strewn with corpses...

Latakia and Tartus are the coastal heartland of Syria’s minority Alawite sect, which is also where the Alawite Assad family is from.

When large-scale Sunni Islamist attacks on Alawite villages began last Thursday and Friday, families desperate to flee the onslaught began seeking shelter at Russia's Hmeimim airbase

Russian media cameras have been at Hmeimim and have confirmed that shelters have been set up for the thousands of displaced - who in many cases are afraid to return to their homes.

Below is a report from RT, documenting the large numbers of families seeking Russian protection amid the jihadist attacks...

Weekend reports said that over 1,000 civilians have died, with independent sources saying the death toll could be in the several thousands. In many villages, there are no cameras or media to document the killings, though in many cases the attackers themselves are filming their own atrocities.

"CBP Home": Trump Admin Auto-Updates Biden's 'CBP One' App For Self-Deportations

The Trump administration has repurposed the controversial Biden-era 'CBP One' cell phone app into a self-deportation app called "CBP Home," according to Fox News' Bill Melugin.

Illegals who still have the CBP One app on their phones will receive an auto-update to the new app, while DHS can use data from prior CBP One registrations to track migrants for removal.

The new app allows illegal aliens and migrants in the US to register with CBP to self deport. They fill out biographical information, including their countries of citizenship, which country they plan to return to, their alien registration numbers, contact information, and it allows them to upload photos of themselves to confirm their identity. All of it is then submitted to CBP, and they leave the country. -Bill Melugin via X

"The CBP Home app gives aliens to option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream. If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return," said DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. "The Biden administration exploited the CBP One app to allow more than one million aliens to enter the United States. With the launching of the CBP Home app, we are restoring integrity to our immigration system."

According to DHS, it is significantly cheaper for the US if illegal aliens choose to self-deport, allowing the agency's limited ICE resources to focus on targeting criminal aliens.

CBP data shows that roughly 40-50 thousand migrants were entering the US each month via the CBP One app during the Biden administration.

DHS makes major TSA change to shorten airport security wait times

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says it is ending collective bargaining for Transportation Security Officers with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

In a release obtained exclusively by FOX Business, DHS said the TSA has more people doing “full-time union work” rather than performing screening functions at 86% of U.S. airports.

This means that out of 432 federalized airports, 374 airports have fewer than 200 TSA Officers to perform screening functions.

These officers are paid by the government but work “full-time on union matters” and do not retain certification to perform screening functions, DHS said.

The department cited a recent TSA employee survey which found that more than 60% of “poor performers” are allowed to stay employed and “not surprisingly, continue to not perform.”

DHS said these circumstances have impeded TSA’s chief responsibility “to safeguard our transportation systems and keep Americans safe.”

DHS argued that eliminating collective bargaining will make airports more efficient by removing “bureaucratic hurdles that will enhance productivity, and lower passengers’ wait times in security lines.”

DHS said Transportation Security Officers will now be promoted based on their performance, not longevity or union membership.

Thanks to [DHS] Secretary Noem’s action, Transportation Security Officers will no longer lose their hard-earned dollars to a union that does not represent them. The Trump Administration is committed to returning to merit-based hiring and firing policies,” a DHS spokesperson said in a statement.

“This action will ensure Americans will have a more effective and modernized [workforce] across the nation’s transportation networks—meaning shorter airport security wait times. TSA is renewing its commitment to providing a quick and secure travel process for Americans.”

The American Federation of Government Employees, which represents TSOs, has pushed back on DHS’ claims, saying TSOs who volunteer as union representatives account for less than half a percent of all work hours performed at TSA, with fewer union representatives nationwide at TSA than the number of total screeners at 86% of individual federal airports.

“47,000 Transportation Security Officers show up at over 400 airports across the country every single day to make sure our skies are safe for air travel. Many of them are veterans who went from serving their country in the armed forces to wearing a second uniform protecting the homeland and ensuring another terrorist attack like Sept. 11 never happens again,” AFGE National President Everett Kelley said in a statement, characterizing Friday’s announcement as an “unprovoked attack” by DHS Secretary Noem and the Trump administration.

“They gave as a justification a completely fabricated claim about union officials – making clear this action has nothing to do with efficiency, safety, or homeland security. This is merely a pretext for attacking the rights of regular working Americans across the country because they happen to belong to a union,” Kelley said. “Our union has been out in front challenging this administration’s unlawful actions targeting federal workers, both in the legal courts and in the court of public opinion. Now our TSA officers are paying the price with this clearly retaliatory action.”
