ViiV Healthcare has filed marketing applications in the U.S. and Europe for a 5 mg dispersible tablet formulation of dolutegravir for HIV-positive children as well as a simplified dosing regimen aimed at optimizing the use of the existing dolutegravir 50 mg film-coated tablet for pediatric patients.
There are ~1.7M children below the age of 15 living with HIV worldwide.
ViiV Healthcare is the HIV-focused joint venture between GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK), Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) and Shionogi (OTCPK:SGIOY).
