The United States Supreme Court granted the emergency appeal filed by the administration of President Donald Trump to withhold some payments under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), overturning a previous appeals court decision.
The ruling will allow the White House to disburse payments from the contingency fund for November, as the administration had requested from the Supreme Court, amid the ongoing government shutdown affecting federal government programs.
"The Supreme Court just granted our administrative stay in this case. Our attorneys will not stop fighting, day and night, to defend and advance President Trump’s agenda," US Attorney General Pam Bondi said of the ruling.
