The United States reached trade agreements with Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, and El Salvador, the White House announced in separate statements.
Under the deal, Argentina will facilitate digital trade with the US by recognizing the US "as an adequate jurisdiction under Argentine law for the cross-border transfer of data, including personal data." Buenos Aires will eliminate the statistical tax for US goods and import licensing, and has committed "not to require consular formalities" for American exports to Argentina.
The White House announced that El Salvador, Guatemala, and Ecuador agreed to address "a wide range of non-tariff barriers affecting trade in priority areas," including agricultural and services sectors, as well as the tech and digital sector.
