Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Saturday mocked remarks by former United States President Joe Biden, who said there are no kings in democracy.
Zakharova stated that Biden's words, aimed at US President Donald Trump, instead cast doubt on European monarchies, including the United Kingdom under King Charles III. Zakharova argued that Biden's statement implied Britain lacks democracy, adding that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe should now consider resolutions against Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and other monarchies.
