Details emerge about suspected Brown University mass shooter

A unique handgun laser light helped cops nail  Brown University’s possible mass shooter, who traveled more than 1,150 miles from Wisconsin to Rhode Island to carry out his deadly attack, law-enforcement sources and a report revealed Sunday.

A revolver — and a small handgun equipped with a special laser light —  was found in the hotel room of a man now considered a “person of interest’’ in the horrific case, according to sources and CNN.

Asked where he’d been Saturday, the man claimed he’d been in his room the whole time, CNN said.

The handgun laser aided investigators in identifying the man, sources told The Post.

The individual, only identified as a man in his 20s, was taken into custody at the Coventry, RI, hotel early Sunday after authorities banged on the door and ordered him to open it up, officials said.

Once inside the suspect’s hotel room, police found the two weapons, according to sources  and CNN.

The person of interest is believed to have traveled all the way from Wisconsin to Rhode Island to carry out the attack, the sources added, but the motive remains unknown.

Two students were killed and nine more wounded during the carnage in a classroom during a final-economics-exam study review session Saturday.

Officers were able to track down the individual with the help of the FBI, whose Cellular Analysis Survey team geolocated the man to the Coventry hotel, according to agency director Kash Patel.

Thanks to the men and women of the FBI and our partners for their continued teamwork. Please continue praying for the victims and their families — as well as all those at Brown University,” Patel said in a statement.

Law-enforcement sources previously told the Associated Press that the gunman in the Brown shooting was armed with a handgun and fired more than 40 .9mm rounds when he stormed a classroom during a review for an economics exam.

Providence police and local officials have yet to provide further details on the shooting as the investigation remains “complex” and moving fast

It remains unclear if the suspect has any affiliation with the university.

Police have also yet to name the victims of the shooting, noting earlier on Sunday that not all the families have been made aware yet of their loved ones’ conditions.

A shelter in place order was lifted on the Ivy League school campus, although all final exams have been canceled.
