UnitedHealth to Take $7 Billion Charge for Sale of Brazil Unit

UnitedHealth Group Inc., the biggest US health insurer, said it will take a charge of about $7 billion for the sale of its operations in Brazil to a private investor.

The company expects the deal to close in the first half of 2024, UnitedHealth said Friday in a filing. Most of the charge is non-cash and due to the cumulative impact of foreign currency exchanges, and the company confirmed its 2024 adjusted earnings outlook.
