Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance admired the skill Vice President Kamala Harris has for word salads.
“I give a lot of speeches, so there’s actually a skill to this,” Vance told podcast giant Joe Rogan in an interview released Thursday.
“I think she is the Michael Jordan of using as many words as possible to say as little as possible. There’s actually a certain gift that she has,” he said, causing Rogan to bust a gut.
“You listen to her talk,” he went on, “and you know you’re a hundred, two hundred words into it, you’re five hundred words into it and you’re like, ‘What the hell did she just say?’ She didn’t say anything.”
The two also cracked up talking about how perilous Harris appears in public when speaking extemporaneously.
“You want to get the, like the lights they use for the air traffic controller, like, come this way, help her out,” Rogan said, waving his arms furiously as Vance erupted into laughter.
“Do you think she wears an earpiece?” Rogan asked.
“I wouldn’t be surprised, I have no idea,” Vance replied.
“The only way I can describe it is she talks in circles.”
“Tim Dillon says it’s like she does gypsy curses, she speaks in gypsy curses,” Rogan ribbed, referring to a fellow podcast comedian.
“It’s like, ‘We need to build an opportunity economy, because if Americans don’t have opportunity, then they’re not going to have the opportunity to be Americans,” Vance started out in a high-toned imitation of the veep.
“The opportunity to generate wealth — and generational wealth,” Rogan offered.
