Israel's Minister of Diaspora Affairs Amichai Chikli said on Sunday that the shooting at Sydney's Bondi Beach was a "terror attack," adding it resulted in a large number of casualties, including fatalities.
"I am in continuous contact with Jewish community leaders in Australia. Deadly terror attack at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia. This is an incident involving Chabad where thousands of people participated," he wrote on X.
As per still unverified reports, the shooters targeted a Hanukkah celebration event. The local authorities confirmed that two suspects were apprehended, but warned that the operation at the beach was still ongoing.
