Walmart, Sam’s Club roll out new ‘Eye Bot’ kiosks

Walmart is using Pennsylvania as a test market for a new way to provide eye exams.

The retailer is rolling out new “Eye Bot” kiosks at 16 Pennsylvania locations — 12 Walmart vision centers and four Sam’s Club Optical Centers — which they say folks can use to get an eye exam in 15 minutes.

“In areas where access might be limited, tools like this help our teams serve customers and members more efficiently,” said Jason Wong, Regional Health & Wellness Director for Walmart, covering Pennsylvania.

“It enables clinicians to focus on the comprehensive care they’re uniquely trained to provide,” he added.

The exam costs $25 at Walmart and is free for Sam’s Club members.
