United States President Donald Trump said Apple Inc. has agreed to work with Intel Corp. to design and produce microchips in the US.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump highlighted Washington's role in chipmaking, saying the world relies on technology created in the US and criticized past leaders for allowing factories to move abroad.
He pointed to his administration's agreements involving Nvidia Corp. and Tesla Inc. and called special attention to the government securing a 10% stake in Intel when its value was about $100 billion. "America's stake is now over 60 Billion Dollars," he claimed.
