Belarus to deploy Oreshnik missiles in December

 Belarus will place the Russian-made Oreshnik missile system on combat duty in December, presidential press secretary Natalia Eismant told TASS on Tuesday.

"The process of creating conditions for the deployment of the Oreshnik in the Republic of Belarus is coming to an end. Any discussion about whether or not the Oreshnik will be deployed is now over," she clarified.

Earlier this year, Lukashenko announced that the intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) would be deployed in his country following an agreement with Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the system, stating that it entered serial production and described it as cutting-edge. In November last year, Russia reportedly used the Oreshnik missile to strike a facility in the city of Dnipro in central Ukraine, marking its first operational use
