Shares of Getty Images Holdings Inc. jumped on Friday after the company announced a licensing agreement with artificial intelligence firm Perplexity. The multi-year deal will see Getty Images supply visual content to Perplexity's search tools, including "image credit with link to source, to better educate users on how to use licensed imagery legally."
Getty Images Vice President of Strategic Development Nick Unsworth said that the partnership "acknowledges the importance of properly attributed content and its value in enhancing AI‑powered products," adding that it will support AI platforms to "increase the quality and accuracy of information delivered to consumers, ultimately building a more engaging and reliable experience."
Getty Images stock gained 13.86% at 11:29 am ET after the announcement, which did not disclose financial details.
