Delta urges Congress to end government shutdown

 Delta Air Lines Inc. called on the United States Congress on Thursday to reopen the government and pay air traffic controllers.

"Missed paychecks only increase the stress on these essential workers, many of whom are already working mandatory overtime to keep our skies safe and secure ... A system under stress must be slowed down, reducing efficiency and causing delays for the millions of people who take to the skies every day," the company said in a statement.

Earlier today, US Vice President JD Vance criticized the Democrats, stressing that it would be "disastrous for the airline industry" if the shutdown continues until Thanksgiving.
