Russia: EU, NATO encouraging attacks on nuclear sites

 Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated on Tuesday that both the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) "encourage" Ukraine to target "peaceful" nuclear facilities.

"We remind you that it was as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on September 23 that the ZNPP-Dniprovska [Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant] high-voltage power line was damaged, which led to the termination of the external power supply to the station," Zakharova stressed, and added that by "covering up reckless actions" by Kiev, the bloc and NATO become its direct accomplices.

Furthermore, Russia accused Ukraine of "undermining peace efforts" last week, following the drone attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in Novorossiysk.
