The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on Monday a "door-to-door" investigation of alleged childcare fraud sites in Minneapolis.
The Department's Secretary Kristi Noem revealed that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is on the ground in Minneapolis, "conducting a massive investigation of childcare and other rampant fraud."
The issue caught the public's attention after blogger Nick Shirley posted a YouTube video exposing the alleged "billion-dollar fraud scandal," implying that a number of Somali immigrants run false daycare centers and embezzle welfare aid. The claim was denied by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's spokesman.
