US senators are set to introduce the "Secure and Feasible Exports Chips Act" to prevent export licenses for advanced chips to China for 30 months, including Nvidia's Blackwell and H200 chips, the Financial Times reported on Thursday, citing the legislation.
As the White House considers whether to permit Nvidia to export the H200 to China, Pete Ricketts, the Republican chair of the Senate Foreign Relations East Asia subcommittee, and Chris Coons, the top Democrat on the panel, have proposed a bipartisan bill to stop the Trump administration from loosening export regulations, according to the media.
The bill is also being sponsored by Democrats Jeanne Shaheen and Andy Kim and Republicans Tom Cotton and Dave McCormick, the media added.
