Switzerland is willing to offer more concessions on imports from the US if it can get even lower tariffs in return from Donald Trump’s administration, as it works to finalize an agreement reached last month.
The government’s signal that it may bring down the few existing tariffs on US products was contained in a draft negotiating mandate published Friday. The negotiations are to cement the preliminary deal announced in November that’s intended to lower US tariffs on Swiss goods to 15% from 39%.
