Over 4,000 users reported issues with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Christmas Eve, according to outage tracker Downdetector.
The online gaming community appeared to be hit hardest by the seemingly widespread disruption, as indicated by both social media comments and Downdetector data. The tracker flagged issues with platforms like Epic Games Store, Steam, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and other gaming services. The largest number of outage reports stemmed from players of Arc Raiders, Rocket League and Fortnite.
Meanwhile, the AWS status page continued to display the "no recent issues" message.
