Top FDA Drug Regulator to Retire Weeks After Starting New Role

 

Richard Pazdur, the US Food and Drug Administration’s lead drug regulator, plans to retire from the agency only weeks after starting his new role, an FDA spokesperson said.

The departure is a major setback for FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, whose top ranks have been roiled by turnover in recent months.
