#WTH It's the guns to blame for Bondi Or so says the Government of Australia

It would be wrong to say that the Labor government of Anthony Albanese in Australia doesn’t like Jews. Rather, they don’t like Israel, despise its Prime Minister, and do little to reject the notion that all Jews are representatives of the State of Israel. Between that conflation, which has rendered the demand to “globalize the intifada” a de facto death threat against Jews everywhere, a firm rejection of recommendations to dial back antisemitism paraded on the streets of Melbourne and Sydney, and an insistence on name-checking vanishingly rare so-called “Islamophobia” with every mention of Jew hatred, Albanese and his Israel-loathing Foreign Minister Penny Wong have ushered in an era of Jew-hatred heretofore unseen down under.

So loath is Albo to talk about Jews that his first reaction to the Bondi massacre — which took place at a Chanukah by the Sea celebration — ignored both Jews and the Jewish holiday. After being roasted publicly for his omission, the PM deigned to condemn antisemitism, and reminded his people how un-Australian it is to hate on the Semites. As if to disprove his own claim, however, Albanese moved at lightning speed to change the subject away from the dread Jew, pivoting to what… Immigration? Tolerance? Nah. Gun violence.

Because you see, Islamists with an ISIS flag did not shoot down a ten year old girl, a rabbi, a Holocaust survivor, and 12 others because they were globalizing the intifada. They did it because guns. Here’s the ABC (Australia):

Bondi Beach shooting live updates: PM to strengthen gun laws across Australia following Bondi attack

Australians make American gun controllers look like Texas cowboys. After the Port Arthur (Tasmania) massacre in 1996, in which 35 people were killed, Australia moved to ban almost all guns. A massive buyback program took almost a million firearms off the street, and there is no “right” to gun ownership here. It is a rare privilege. And apparently one that someone who was known to Australian intelligence as an extremist could exercise. The shooter at Bondi had six legal, registered firearms. Because…. why not.

When the government allows Jews to be threatened almost every day; when the government allows marchers to call to “kill the Jews;” when the government lets a man who firebombed a synagogue walk, because “meds”; when the government spirits ISIS brides back into Australia, and hides that fact from the public; and when the government does all of this, and at the same time insists that a massacre of Jews was about guns, is it any surprise that Jews in Australia are afraid?

A few facts for those who understandably are less steeped in Oz (from where I hail, and where I am right now):

This list is only a taste, and omits the personal experiences suffered by many in Australia’s Jewish communities. Houses have been vandalized. Every Jewish site now needs armed security. Artists have been dropped by their galleries for being Jewish. Students have been tossed from group houses. Days ago, a rabbi was verbally assaulted by a woman riding the tram in Melbourne. And there is a direct line between these expressions of hate and the shooting that took place on Bondi.

We know this phenomenon in America as well, because we too have Jew haters among our political leaders. And like Albanese, they too have fostered an environment in which it has become permissible to imagine, and even act on, a desire to kill Jews simply for being Jews.

I can’t express it better than this video post by Freedom’s Avenger (just click where it says “listen now”). It’s six minutes long, but it draws the direct line between the conflation of Jews, Zionists, and Israel, and the murder and terrorization of Jews worldwide.

Watch it, and you too will understand how, when government makes targeting Jews acceptable, the next step is killing them.
