Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that Iran is ready to "embrace a fair and equitable nuclear deal" that would address the country's "legitimate interests" and result in lifting sanctions. He repeated that Tehran has never sought to acquire nuclear weapons.
"Iran always stands ready to engage with regional states to protect peace and stability in our region and shield it from unlawful aggression," Araghchi said following meetings with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Fidan added that nuclear deal negotiations between Iran and the United States are necessary for regional stability. "Relations need to be normalized on the basis of a new agreement. We have conveyed to all our counterparts at every opportunity that we are against a military intervention against Iran," Fidan said.
