Dems are sleepwalking

by Noel S. Williams

I think I’ve figured out what’s wrong with them Dems:  they are sleepwalking.  Their prefrontal cortices have atrophied.

That’s the part of the brain that encompasses our self-awareness.  It manages decision-making, planning, self-control, personality traits, behavior, and other executive functions — all traits that empirical evidence indicates are problematic in today’s leftist Dems (i.e., most of them).

There’s enough political absurdity to go around, but clearly Dems are most affected by a lack of agency over their actions.  Just because they can walk and talk (and never stop blabbering, actually) doesn’t mean they’re in charge of their functions.

There’s an “eye-opening” experiment that monitors the brain activity of sleepwalkers.  One observation is that during these somnambulism episodes, parts of the brain are awake (motor and visual cortex), whereas other parts remain in deep sleep.  Turns out that the prefrontal cortex (again, responsible for judgment, self-awareness, etc.) remains asleep.  The upshot is that a person can walk, talk, and perform tasks without self-awareness, or remembrance of their sleepwalking escapades upon returning to a fully conscious state.

Doesn’t that sound a lot like today’s sleepwalking Dems?  After all, the inactivity of their prefrontal cortices helps explain why Dems were for something before President Trump, then against it after his election (and vice versa).  It’s as if they have no memory and have lost control of their identity (despite video evidence of their blatant flip-flops).

It’s also as if they have lost an essential element of sentience: free will.  Examples abound, with Tampon Tim and Jacob “Fried” providing recent evidence of Dem mindlessness. Their rush to judgment in declaring a heroic ICE agent (who tried to tame a hysterical anti-ICE female) as a “murderer” is proof of their lack of executive function self-control.

As Freud, and so many researchers and neurologists since, showed (though his prescriptions may be off), much of our brain activity occurs beneath the surface of conscious awareness.  To a certain extent, our subconscious “thoughts” have a deterministic nature — thankfully, we don’t have to “think” about the manifold banal responses and decisions we constantly make every waking moment.  Nonetheless, once thoughts percolate up into our conscious regions, we can make informed decisions.  With a healthy and exercised prefrontal cortex, we can then exercise free will.

Here, again, today’s Dems are floundering in a mental muddle.  Their minds’ executive functions are ravaged by instinctual, unthinking responses conceived in their dark subconscious recesses.  Rather than exercise their prefrontal cortex and rationally confront reality, their lazy behavior is deterministic.  In effect, TDS usurps their free will.  That’s a travesty, because to be conscious is to be free.  Instead, today’s Dems are mentally imprisoned by their ill-disciplined unconsciousness.  In essence, they are sleepwalking.
