Intel Corp.'s shares jumped 10% on Wednesday following the report that Nvidia was planning to cooperate with the chip manufacturer in the production of its Feynman GPU chip in 2028.
The news coincides with the United States government's push to diversify chip production sources and boost domestic production. As a part of the deal, Nvidia would partially involve Intel in the next-generation GPU platform (Feynman architecture) slated for 2028. The non-core critical parts could be manufactured by Intel by using planned 18A or 14A processes, while core GPU dies would stay with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC).
