Pakistani Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said on Thursday that Islamabad will continue trading with Iran in line with international rules, despite US warnings that it could impose 25% tariffs on countries maintaining commercial ties with Tehran.
"Trade that takes place between Pakistan and other countries follows international trade regulations and international law, so we will continue to engage with both the United States and Iran in trade relations," Andrabi said during a weekly news briefing.
He added that Pakistan was carefully following the situation as it unfolds in Iran and voiced confidence that the country, which he described as an "ancient civilization" marked by "wisdom and resilience," would overcome current challenges. "As a neighbor, friend and brotherly country, Pakistan wishes to see a peaceful, stable and prosperous Iran," he said.
