An explosive device detonated at the Atrium office building in the Zuidas district in Amsterdam, the Dutch news outlet Het Parool reported on Monday, citing the spokesperson of the local police department. According to the report, the explosion took place around 1:00 am CET and the police is still investigating the incident.
The attack was claimed by a militant group calling itself Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya, which also claimed responsibility for the attack at a Jewish school in the Netherlands' capital city on Saturday. The group's video was shared on social media, and stated that the target was the office building, where several Western companies are located, including the Bank of New York Mellon Corporation.
"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. This is the Final Warning. To all the peoples of the world, especially in the European Union, immediately distance yourselves from all American and Zionist interests, facilities, and what is affiliated with them," the group said in the video.
