Marine drone explodes in Romania's major port city

 The Romanian National Defense Ministry confirmed on Friday that a marine drone exploded in the port city of Constanta earlier in the day.

According to the department's official statement, the explosion took place at the port's Dock 78 at approximately 10:30 am local time, 9:30 am CET. No casualties have been reported. The ministry noted that the drone in question was "of the type used in the war in Ukraine." It also insisted that the drone "was not involved in the recent exercises organized by the Ministry of National Defense in the Black Sea area," contrary to some local media reports.

Earlier, some Romanian media outlets alleged that the drone exploded hours after it was discovered by the Romanian Agency for Saving Human Life at Sea (ARSVOM).
