Iran denies striking Oman

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran denied on Tuesday any involvement in drone strikes in Omani territory.

In a report published by the Tasnim news agency, Iranian officials denounced any military aggression against the "territory or ports of the friendly and neighboring country of Oman." The Omani authorities previously reported that a person was injured in a drone attack on Sunday, while a fuel tank exploded when another drone crashed today.

The statement comes as the US Embassy in Muscat issued its second shelter-in-place order of the day for staff and citizens, citing "ongoing activity."
